How do I download a video directly from my browser?

With the "Video Downloader" browser extension, you can download any video from any streaming site directly from your web browser.

No need to sign up for anything. You don't even need to click anything!

Downloading videos is usually very slow, and if you aren't getting a direct download, the download URL will be embedded in a tiny window, as opposed to appearing on the page. However with Video Downloader, your video is downloaded directly, so the wait time is much faster than usual.

Can you use Aloha browser on PC?

When I read the announcement of a new tablet called "Aloha", and it says that the browser that is shipped with the tablet is also an Android browser.

I am surprised because I don't see why they would give up a popular browser one platform and not the other. Can someone explain why this is happening?

I believe that is the Android webview inside Firefox for Windows or Internet Explorer or Chrome in Windows.or other browser supporting HTML5, it may be the Android version of Firefox, or maybe IE or Chrome on Windows, but there are many different browsers to support (which is a lot).

You are right. There are many browsers on Windows: Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer. It doesn't make sense to ship a browser like Aloha, which is available on Linux, OS X and now Windows.

What if the Aloha team comes back from their holiday with more features and makes Android browser that runs on Windows? That would be strange. They could release a mobile-aloha browser for Windows with some features added that the phone version has, like desktop browsing (not sure about video, though). Or a tablet version of Aloha for Windows. The choice is theirs. They could even release just the Android webview version of Firefox for Windows, which is good, but I'm pretty sure people are going to be asking "why" when the phone version of Aloha for Windows comes out, which is good, too.

I think they didn't want to alienate Google Play Tablet users with an Aloha browser version, because it would have made them feel like a second class citizen. Since they made the Aloha Browser for Windows, and the Aloha Phone Browser for Android and the Aloha Tablet Browser for Android, I guess they figured they would just carry that into the Windows version. It's going to be interesting to see how it all plays out.

It is a shame that the browser experience for Android is really bad. The Aloha browser on iOS 5 is really good. It has some great features and works perfectly for my needs, which are just regular surfing, email, etc.

Can you download videos with VPN?

Yes you can.

VPN's allow you to access the internet using a new location and a new IP address. If you access your ISP's website in USA it is not going to tell you that the website is not available, it will tell you that you cannot access the website.

In this case you would have to use a VPN that allows you to access the US version of the website from the USIf you were in Japan, you would need to use a VPN in Japan and if you were in UK, you would need a VPN for UK. However some VPN providers offer websites that work everywhere and therefore will let you access the website from anywhere you like. However some VPN's have servers all over the world. Therefore if you download a VPN, for example Hotspot Shield, you can change it to all over the world and therefore no matter where you are in the world you can access that website.

Some VPN's will actually allow you to download videos from that site and save it to a drive on the PC. This is really useful for watching video content when you are not connected to the internet, but you need to be able to watch it at a later date.

However it is good to note that although you may think that the website is actually accessed through the USA or UK, this is not actually the case. Most websites that you download a video from will actually have something saying "accessing from (location)" or some similar wording. It is therefore important to check that what you have downloaded is what you have downloaded.

I will now show you an example and we will talk about the difference in the terminology that you can see on the screen. Example 1: We are looking at a screen where the title of the video is shown along with the "Where" it was accessed from. We can see from the image below that the video was accessed from US.

Example 2: We are looking at the same image however we see a warning message on the screen, it says "Access Denied - You do not have the permission to view this page. Contact the Web Site Owner". So this means that it was accessed from a different country than where you are logged into and you don't have permission to view it.

You need to keep this in mind if you try to download a movie one website and it gives a warning that you are accessing it from a different location.

How do I change the download location on my Aloha browser?

If you have used the Aloha download feature for one of your downloads, you may have noticed that you can set it to download to a specific location on your computer. You may have also noticed that you can specify where you would like to download when you are in the download window. These two features are not always easy to access. The way you do it depends on whether you have a Mac or Windows operating system. If you have a Mac, follow the steps below to change the download location. If you have a PC, follow the steps below to change the download location.

Change Download Location on a Mac. Click on the menu at the top right of your screen to bring up the settings menu. Select Downloads from the Menu. Click on the arrow icon next to Download. Click on Choose Folder. You will be presented with a window that lets you change the download location.
