How do I give an app access to Google Fit?
I know, it's about privacy. You want your data private, and you definitely don't want the big G peeking at it all day long. If you're developing a new app or an existing one, you can use Fitbit's API to get your data for whatever purpose you'd like.
But when you build a Fitbit app, you're not building it for all Fitbit users. You're doing it for your own account and the accounts of your friends, family members, and business associates, all of whom already have Fitbits. If you're going to ask them for permission to access their Fitbit information, you need to ask the permission of only those particular people you'd like to share with.
So, you're going to want to use the user interface that comes with your chosen API rather than the generic permissions panel that's available to apps that were built for everyone. So, let's walk through how to get an app running on your phone that you'll be able to ask your friends, family members, and business associates for access to their Fitbits.
Getting access to your Fitbit data. To do so, you'll want to start by signing into your Fitbit account. If you haven't used Fitbit yet, you'll sign in when you create a new device. But if you already have a Fitbit, log in with your email address.
(If you have multiple Fitbit devices linked to your Fitbit account, you might want to see the section "Use Fitbit data on more than one device.") If you've already linked your phone to your account, you'll see the login button on your phone after you log in to your account. By the way, if you're wondering why you can't log in directly from your phone or other computer, it's because your Fitbit doesn't sync data between computers just between your phone and your account. In any case, you should now be signed in to your Fitbit account, but, if you're still having trouble, here are some steps you can take: On your phone or tablet, open the Settings app, then tap Apps, followed by Fitness. If your phone automatically goes to your Google account when you open the Settings app, tap Back (instead). On the next screen, scroll down until you see Google Fit. Tap Sign Out. Now tap your email address.
How do I unblock Google Fit?
The first step in removing a blocked tracker is to find it under the Settings menu, where you'll find a link to "Unblock your Google Fit trackers." The process is pretty easy, and the steps are outlined in the graphic below: Head to the Settings menu and look for the "Unblock your Google Fit trackers" link. You'll need to create a Google account if you're signed up already, but that's it.
Click on the blue button. A pop-up window will appear, asking you to select your most used app(s) (or an empty option to choose from). The process is simple: Select the Trackers option, and follow the instructions. Your unblocked tracker will then appear under the Trackers tab.
Once you've unblocked the trackers, try the other steps we've outlined in the graphic above to refresh any data. How can I see my activity data? You can access your activity data to review your progress at any time. Here are the steps to accessing it: Head to the Activity tab. Then, scroll down and click on the "Activity" option. This will bring up all of your activity data in one place, including your daily steps, distance, active minutes, and more. This is a great place to get a snapshot of your daily habits. It's also a great place to compare your activity data with others and see what your daily stats compare to others in your area or group.
How do I view my active minutes and total steps? You can access this information in two places: On the Activity tab: In the upper left-hand corner of the Activity tab, you'll find buttons toggle between the Day, Week, Month, and Year sections. To change which time range you want to see, just click the appropriate button.
On the Dashboard tab: From the bottom of the Dashboard page, you can click on Active Minutes to view your active minutes. Clicking on Total Steps will open a view that shows the number of total steps for your account.
How do I sync my fitness data? Synchronization helps to ensure your data gets to your apps and websites in the most accurate form.
How do I fix Google blocking apps?
The Problem: After Google updated their Play Store to version 10.5.1, Android apps are no longer free to use ads on websites. In fact, Google has a new policy that apps may not use an ad network (Admob) for in-app advertising.
There is a workaround. Apps must be paid. However, if you can't pay, you're out of luck. Google won't even let you download the apps from Google Play.
It used to be that if you were rejected for using an ad network you could submit a bug report and ask for your app to be reviewed again. That option is gone.
There's not much more information than that, other than we have a workaround and Google won't let us know why we can't use ads. Is this going to change? Who knows? The answer, at least for now, is to download and install all of these files. This will create a copy of your apps without the ads. In other words, it's a working version of your apps, but you're using a fake version of Admob instead.
Note: there are other ways to download apps. There is a site called APK Mirror. You can either copy the entire APK file, or just a single module of the APK. This will download the complete app.
So, what do I need to download? The first step is to locate your original APK file, which is in your home folder. You can look inside it. The ad network module is usually under the name "adremoved". If the ad module is named something different, such as "adremovedmobilestudio", that's fine.
Once you have that APK, you'll need to install it onto your phone. This is fairly easy, with a few options. There are apps that will help you to do this. A popular one is called MTP.
You can also use a program called ADB Installer. There are several versions of ADB Installer available. I recommend the latest version, which is free and works well.
How do I install an APK file onto my phone? Connect the phone to your computer and start the program. In the list of files, you should see your Google Play APK.
