Why has Surfshark stopped working?

I have downloaded the new version of Surfshark and I am running it on a Windows 8.1 laptop. It has worked perfectly on the past versions but this time, when I click on it, the icon simply does not open.

There is no error message. This is very weird because there are other apps (like Google Chrome) that run perfectly well. The same happens when I try to download and install Surfshark again.

The icon shows the green tick but nothing else. Any idea how I can resolve this? I have tried to reinstall but that does not work.

Why is SmartDNS not working for Netflix?

I have followed the instructions on the Netflix website to enable SmartDNS in Firefox, but the DNS seems to be still using Google's DNS. When I type in "www.netflix.com" into the Firefox address bar, it takes me to google. I also tested it on another computer, and the same thing happened. I'm running Windows 7. Any ideas?

Re: ? I don't know if you already found the answer, but here it is. You may have to change your IP address to the Netflix's one (it's a public IP address). For example, I'm on Netflix's IP address and my ISP's DNS are set to OpenDNS. In the Netflix's website, when I go to my Account -> Streaming Account -> Account Settings, I find out that my IP address is: Thank you very much! It was much easier than I thought! I tried to change my IP address to the Netflix's one, but I didn't realize that the IP address changes every time I restart my computer. So, I just changed it to the one that the Netflix's website showed and it worked!

How do I enable SmartDNS on Surfshark?

By using the Surfshark application of Surfshark, we can provide a free DNS to our customers. This DNS is SmartDNS, and it's very easy to setup. In this tutorial, we will show you how to enable SmartDNS for Surfshark.

Enable smartDNS on Surfshark by using the app. Surfshark provides a very nice app which can help you manage your DNS. It's very easy to setup, there are only 3 steps: Login: Open the Surfshark app, if you don't have the Surfshark app, you can go to Surfshark store and get it. It will work when the surfshark apps are installed on both device and smartphone.

Set DNS: Click on "DNS" in the upper right corner of the app screen. You will see 4 choices: OpenDNS, GoogleDNS, DNSFreeDNS, NetNannyDNS. We will choose "OpenDNS" which is the most popular DNS in the USYou can change the DNS later when we update the router.

Save Settings: Click the last button at the bottom of the page. Configure the DHCP-Server. Now, we will configure the router DHCP (DNS) to allow the Surfshark's app to access the smartDNS for surfshark. To do this, follow these steps: Make sure that you have an internet connection (at least one device), but if you are in a hotspot and you need to download a software package, try to download it while you have your internet connection, so you'll be able to install it later when you have the Internet connection. Open your computer. In this windows, type ipconfig /all and press Enter. Then paste in the IP address and subnet mask for your WiFi network (this will only be visible if you set them manually in your wifi connection).
