Should I turn on Nord Threat protection?

I don't really understand what this is, but it sounds like it might be useful, so I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this feature, or if they think it's worth it.

It's a very simple firewall, the kind that's easily configurable on Macs. The first time you boot up after installing a new OS, you'll get a message telling you that there's a new security feature available. It's not a true firewall, but rather a proxy to block certain domains. One of the side effects is that they use some of the CPU cycles to generate traffic that can use up your bandwidth. If you want to turn it off, simply uncheck the box in the network preferences.

I would also consider setting up a dynamic DNS service like OpenDNS or something similar. You can do this through almost any router that has an HTTP proxy built-in. As a bonus, you'll be able to keep your router as a basic wireless repeater.

Thanks for the advice. I looked it up, and it seems like what I'm looking for is the Nord Threat Protection firewall. I'm pretty sure that's what I want, although I could probably have it set up with some additional features if that's what I want, too.

The first thing I did was to read the manual, and it tells me to use the Nord Threat Protection firewall as a proxy server, and to disable the firewall's ability to prevent access to certain sites that it thinks might be dangerous. I'll try to see if I can get this set up correctly before I bother with anything else, but I'm guessing that once I have the Nord Threat Protection installed, I'll have to wait until I reboot to be able to disable the firewall's proxy server, since it sounds like it's what the Nord Threat Protection is designed to do.

I set up my router's HTTP proxy and enabled the Nord Threat Protection firewall. I configured it to use port 80 as the default and set it to only allow HTTP requests.

Many would think that once you have connected to their server that connection is done, or at least that's what I thought when connecting to NordVPN a few months ago.

However during some research I found several articles stating that it is in fact possible to monitor your real IP address through the use of JavaScript, so in this article I would like to present a quick summary of these findings and give a recommendation on whether or not NordVPN is safe to have on all the time for a VPN user.

Note: This article will look at the default NordVPN version found on some routers such as Dlink, and Netgear routers with the OpenVPN Client application installed.
