Do Uhura and Spock end up together?

What happened to Spock's wife T. Pring?

I've been asking that question for almost five years.

We know she's alive and we're pretty sure she was on Earth at the end of TOS; but there's little in the way of new information on her, so I'm hoping someone out there can provide us with a tidbit or two.

Asking on the official boards is fine. They're still the place where most people discuss Star Trek. But, since we're looking to fill in the blanks here, it seems like a good idea to turn to other sources to see what information is out there. As a result, I'd like to solicit contributions from readers as to what they know about the T. Pring character. We know that she was T.R. Ejemore's wife and that she died. We know they were married for about ten years. But, what else do we know about her? I've seen that there are some questions on that over at STO, but I'd also like to hear from readers.

Please give us your best guess as to what happened to T. Pring, how you think she died, what her last name might have been and anything else you can remember. I'll do my best to report back on what information you provide.

"What happened to Spock's wife T." You don't ask that question as if you are looking for the answer to that question. I read those posts as "Is there anything new on T."

If you have new information, then, "Did you know T. Pring is still alive? Then, you start throwing out all these possibilities. "Was she with them in TOS? Did she die in one of the Xindi movies?"

So, if you really have new information, you'll have to clarify that. I don't recall any such question on this site. On STO, there was a thread where they asked for information about T. ()

I'm a bit unclear on what your question is. For those who do not know, the T. Pring character was played by actress Tricia Pring. The film version of the character is played by actress Lina Roessler (also a stage actress).

Do Uhura and Spock end up together?

If so, does Spock marry Uhura?

If not, what does he do next? And do Uhura and Kirk have a future?

The short answer is that they don't end up together, but they do have a future. In the original series episode "Turnabout Intruder" (Season 3, Episode 13) Uhura tries to make amends for her treatment of Spock in the previous episode by telling him that she loves him. Spock doesn't believe her, but he does kiss her goodbye at the end of the episode. This doesn't lead to anything, however. In the next episode, "Journey to Babel" (Season 3, Episode 14), Uhura tries again and Spock takes her out for a date. They get back together on the Enterprise in the episode "Is There in Truth No Beauty?" (Season 3, Episode 15) but she leaves the ship again in the next episode "The Naked Time" (Season 3, Episode 16).

In Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, the couple finally gets together, but Spock doesn't marry Uhura. In the novelization of the film, the two get married.

Does Spock break up with T-Pring?

In The Wrath of Khan, Spock has a relationship with his half-sister T'Pring.

There was a scene in Star Trek V where he said "T'Pring" to Picard as he was talking about the Vulcan way. Spock says "She never liked me anyway."
The question is, does Spock end up breaking up with T'Pring? Or is this an isolated incident? And if it is a real relationship, are there any other instances of this happening between Trek characters (or at least between main characters)? No, that doesn't seem to be the case. As you pointed out, the only example that comes to mind for Spock and T'Prng is the Vulcan greeting in the movies. In the books Spock says T'Prng, but it's not specified that it's the first time.

And from the point of view of the novel series, it doesn't really count, because the novel series take place several hundred years before the first movie. It is worth pointing out that there is indeed a long history of stories between Vulcans and their half-sisters, and a few of those have ended with the male half-sibling wanting to see the female half-sibling gone. But none of them were set in the future.

Well, we can get two different answers depending on whether or not we believe Spock's words in the TOS film, and they differ based on the circumstances surrounding the scene, which makes them inconsistent with each other. TOS Spock's Word of God. We can read this line at face value, so it is very likely the first time they spoke after they separated. And it seems like they were separated by choice, so it is no big deal to be separated, right? We can also look at the situation of the character and understand the dialogue to mean something different. In the film, I think this is the most convincing answer. Spock has to do some emotional manipulation, and it is believable that he would get angry at someone whom he loved.

TOS book Spock's word. At first, I thought the answer was no, because we know there is history between T'Prng and Spock and there was a Vulcan-human thing. And this exchange is pretty much the same as their introduction in TOS film, and is actually more specific.

Do Nurse Chapel and Spock stay together?

As mentioned in the other thread, Nurse Chapel and Spock have a very complex relationship.

Spock is often confused with McCoy (as Kirk points out to him) but Spock can never quite decide what he feels towards her. In "Shore Leave" he gets her to admit that she doesn't just want to be his nurse - which is why she is not as upset when they are separated by Kirk for their R and R. He also points out that Spock is very good at saying what he means without sounding like he's using words.

He is unsure about sharing a bed with her - he knows that he'd like to share a bed with her but if he did he'd also have to explain all of his actions with Nurse Chapel and he doesn't feel he can. And he can't tell if he is just acting like McCoy - but is he really? Does Spock mean what he says - or are his emotions affecting his reason? When Spock and McCoy left ship and were lost on The Muddling, he didn't want to let her go - but he had the good sense to let her come with him because she wanted to. The question is whether Spock's reaction to Chapel was genuine - or whether he didn't want to lose her before this mission.

Also, he wasn't sure if he should be sleeping in their bed as an alien - and if it was going to be awkward since she is now his lover. He tries to talk to her about this in the following episode and says he hopes that she feels what he does - and that she will say she loves him.

Are their lives on the Enterprise together

Or just until after the wedding (when Spock says he can't take away Chapel away from him on the Enterprise). She is the only nurse in space to treat him and he is the only Vulcan in space to be the object of her affections. She also has the responsibility of treating him if something should happen. In the end they need each other so they do stay together.in theory.there might be a few moments where Spock is annoyed with her but the majority of time he adores her to pieces. When the mission is over, Spock and doctor-boy go off to the planet and then he tells her 'if I could choose who I want to be with my life would be with you'.
