Did Nurse Chapel and Spock have a relationship in the original series?
It's an interesting question, and some fans claim that they had one.
Others say that they were colleagues, that they were friends and that they even had romantic feelings for each other. But how well do we really know the characters? What we do know is that Nurse Chapel and Spock spent their last moments together in Amok Time.
Let's look at the facts. In the episode we find Kirk, Spock, Dr McCoy and Scotty on board the Enterprise. While the ship is passing through a strange space, they see an object resembling a flower moving through space. They decide to investigate and the Enterprise finds itself locked onto the flower. Spock and McCoy find out that the flower is actually a living creature. The alien's entire life consists of one day, and they have no idea what they are.
The alien is brought aboard the Enterprise and Spock and McCoy perform several tests. McCoy discovers that the being is capable of self-healing and that the only sign of illness is death. There are also signs of a disease that keeps the alien from aging.
Spock and McCoy are able to convince Captain Kirk to allow them to live on the Enterprise, but the alien becomes angry when he learns about this decision and threatens to kill Kirk. When Kirk, Spock and McCoy try to contact the alien's home world, the alien destroys their communications equipment and goes on a rampage through the ship. Scotty and Kirk use a transporter beam to transport Spock and McCoy off the Enterprise. When Spock and McCoy are about to arrive on the planet, the alien shoots a stun beam at them and drags them off. It appears that the alien will finish Spock and McCoy off and take their bodies with it.
On the planet, the alien brings Spock and McCoy into a strange structure. Inside this structure, Spock and McCoy are met by a humanoid who calls himself Doctor McCoy. McCoy informs Spock that he was the last human he saw.
The strange alien creature has been holding Spock and McCoy captive for several years. He has also been keeping a piece of metal that the alien believes is his heart. We learn that the alien doesn't have a heart. He also explains that he needs Spock's body and McCoy's help to bring back the Enterprise.
What does Nurse Chapel say to Spock?
This is a story about Spock's love for Nurse Chapel in the original series.
If you have seen the film Star Trek: Generations, you know that Spock and Nurse Chapel were once lovers. Nurse Chapel was killed by the Romulans during the course of the original series. Later, Spock was engaged to Nurse Carol Marcus who bears an uncanny resemblance to Nurse Chapel. When they meet after the destruction of the Enterprise-D, Spock tries to convince her that he isn't married anymore. But Nurse Chapel reappears when it is most needed.
I wanted to have a conversation with Nurse Chapel in one of the novels. Since I had no interest in talking about the show or the movie, I figured that the best way to learn how to write her would be to think of my own. I would talk to Nurse Chapel myself.
"Hello, my name is Spock and I was wondering if I could have a chat with you for a few minutes." There. That sounded like Spock.
I sat down on the floor in the center of her medical bay and looked around. The walls were yellow. The floor was grey. A medical screen was on the wall to my left. There was a patient on the gurney on the opposite wall. She looked like she needed a few more hours in bed.
Spock looked concerned. "We need to talk about Nurse Chapel, don't we? If we don't, then I won't be happy."
The nurse responded. "We can talk about anything you want. We all love Miss Chapel very much. But we are so very busy right now and will never be able to take you to our home. You need to get out of here and let us get back to our duties. It's time to release the patient."
"Nurse, you don't have to send me away. I'm not here to hurt anyone. I'm only here to talk."
"Spock, if you don't leave we'll have to call security. We have to protect ourselves. We can't take any chances."
Spock got up and stood in front of the nurse. He was blocking her view of me.
"Spock, please." The nurse said. "The patient needs help. She's unresponsive. We've called Dr. McCoy and we're awaiting orders from him.
Did Spock and T Pring break up?
A lot of you have asked me about Spock and T'Pring during the hiatus so here are my thoughts.
The two have a rocky history starting with the time that T pring met Kirk which was also the time that McCoy got his leg severed.
However during the break up, Spock did not seem to mind. At first he was annoyed because T is being so stubborn by not giving up on him but he seemed to come round to her soon enough. Spock even asked T to stay on the ship. In fact there was even an instance where T actually left the ship. Although after she left the ship we never see Spock and T together again. This is because I really don't think they will break up at all unless they get a call from Star Trek 2 which is not confirmed at all.
What do you guys think? I hope you all enjoyed my little article on the most annoying TV couples of all time. So my friend has annoying TV couple (T'Pring/Kirk) that annoys me whenever I watch it, but since they have already ended it's quite easy to overlook everything bad and focus on the cute moments! (or maybe they just got married already). In this case, however, I would like to point out how their annoying personality traits affect each other. One does all of that annoying stuff for her boyfriend, yet it often results in one of them being angry or in love with her. For example, T constantly pokes fun at all the weird stuff Kirk does, while he doesn't take it anymore than Kirk does. Then he ends up feeling hurt, angry and confused. In short, T does the annoying things in their relationship to make Kirk feel special, yet she also makes Kirk feel like nothing more than a punching bag. Kirk usually ends up having to fight T back for himself
I know you're probably like, that's not annoying at all, what kind of stupid jerk gets angry for wanting to be made fun of? and I agree with you. It's no longer annoying when people talk shit to themselves. Yet, it still isn't completely over the top as you pointed out. And for any other examples such as how can he just watch me be all mean?
