Does Spock break up with T-Pring?

What happened to Spock's wife T. Pring?

I don't really know how to explain what happened to Captain Sela of the USS Enterprise-A and my beloved T.

Pring from "The Best of Both Worlds" without going into too much background from ENT (I'd be happy to write up a long answer, but I thought I'd get a short one) or TOS (since this has been asked/answered so many times).

But what happened to Pring after the Borg attacked her on the planet Beta? She disappeared along with many crew members after being held hostage by the Borg, but where did she go? Did she join The Collective? Was there any hope of rescue from the Romulans when they finally reached the planet? If she was a Borg who was assimilated, she would have no reason to stay in space for extended periods. She would not have been able to remain alive in a Borg cube for more than thirty days, if she had joined the assimilation process, if she were one of the drones. It's possible that T'Pol told a Borg commander that she wanted to escape the assimilation, which prompted Starfleet to rescue her.

In any case, Pring left Beta just like many others in her situation and became one of those lost lives. No, the answer is she was killed because she couldn't become one with the Collective. Pring was not a drone (she never even came close) because she was born into the Alpha Quadrant. Her father was one of the founding colonists of Vulcan and he chose his mate knowing she would be unable to bond with another race due to being born human. I don't believe the story that she didn't mind losing her humanity (or her humanity for a short time, or that she was going to let the other colonists die for "science"). No, I don't think she had second thoughts and wanted to become part of the Collective willingly. She said so herself. Her refusal to become one for the short term was her life. As Spock said, she could have remained human for some time or even permanently, but as Pring pointed out at one point, there was no guarantee that would work out. I'd be surprised if her human nature is anything like what you say in your post. She would not have had the same reasons or circumstances in which to become one of the Borg. When the Borg captured her, it would be more about surviving in the face of such an event.

Does T-Pring love Spock?

I love Spock.

He's a great character. He is a great character in that he says something and then immediately answers it with another question. He's very interesting. And his question-answering formula has been very successful. And so to me, it is the ultimate definition of the Star Trek character.

So, he's your hero? Well, I don't know that I have heroes. But if I did, he would be a good one.

How did you get into acting? Well, I got into acting because I was doing a play at NYU. I went to school there. I was in the Dramatic Workshop. They had a couple of plays going. It was in the late '60s. I just sort of kept at it. I did a couple of TV shows, some theater stuff. Then I did this thing called The Prisoner, which is a TV show, but it's a movie and a TV show. And I did that for a couple of years. Then I was doing this TV show called Kolchak, which was about a private eye, and I had a part in that. And then I was in this movie called The Man Called Noon. And then I was in this TV show called Dark Shadows. It was a horror show.

It was about a guy who had been dead for 300 years. And it was on NBC.

Oh, OK. It was on Saturday night. So, it was terrible.

(laughs) What was the lead in this? I played this guy who was a werewolf. Werewolf? Yeah. What did you wear? Well, I wore a fur coat. I was pretty wolfish looking. I had a great time. It was a great show.

Were you the only werewolf? No. There were other people. There were other werewolves. I remember that.

I've never seen that show.

And if Spock does break up with T-Pring, why does he go to dinner with her?

And if he doesn't go to dinner with her, why does he go to a party with her?

Spock was going to attend the party to help McCoy recover from the injuries he suffered earlier at the hands of Kirk. However, due to McCoy's insistence, he would only stay long enough to help (ie sit by his side) and say a few words (perhaps something along the lines of 'I can see you've been hurt'). Spock would then return to the ship to spend some time examining his injury, until he can fully recover. This explains why he goes to the party with T'Pol as it's customary for a Vulcan to spend some time with his family, or other members of the ruling household, after receiving an injury of that nature. As for why he would go to a party with T'Pring, there is no real explanation for this one.

T'Pring's motivation is never really explained either. We only ever see her going to the party with Kirk because he wanted her to be there, even though she had already decided to go before Kirk made any moves towards her.
