How do I disable proxy?

I'm trying to reach to a website. The issue is, I need to bypass the proxy setting on my system. I have set an environment variable with proxy details in it, and tried to specify the same as below. However this is not working at all and I don't understand why.

I'm trying to turn on some apps such as Netflix and Pandora, but I can't connect to the networks and neither can I turn off the proxy or VPN. How do I turn these off? Can someone please explain? I tried to reset Chrome & Firefox settings by going into Settings and then Advanced. In other words, Settings > Security, Privacy > Reset to Factory Defaults. After that, I couldn't figure out how to turn the proxy or VPN off on Chrome/Firefox as it has been off since 2023 (or at least on Chrome). Thank you very much!
