How to become a Seminole County substitute teacher?
If you are a teacher or substitute teacher with experience, and want to apply for the Seminole County Department of Education substitute teacher positions, you must fill out the teacher hiring application form, and submit it to the district office at 2026 N.
W. 56th Ave., Sanford, Florida, 33571, along with your resume. You will also need three personal references who are willing to attest to your experience as an educator. The names and contact information for references is on the bottom of the form.
After the initial screening, you will be scheduled for an interview before all the candidates are hired. The process can take a few days to get back to you regarding the status of your appointment. To provide sufficient time, all interested employees should call the School Site Administrator's Office at (813) 632-3188 as soon as they receive their appointment letter and complete the required background check. Employees are required to notify school administrators as soon as possible if their background check reveals any information that would prevent them from being hired.
Substitute teaching positions are non-paid and most substitute teachers are given four hours of work per week on a full-time basis.
