Does Solis Lite work on airplanes?
Is Solis Lite safe to use while flying?
Do you have any experience using the software and have you ever flown on an airplane? Thanks. I have no experience with it but have used it extensively at home. I think I have logged about 100 flights and have no problems, although it doesn't tell you if it is doing anything to your IFE system. However, I have only used it on the old Toshiba laptop that I have in my carry on so I don't know if it will work with the newer systems.
Yes, it does not interfere with the IFE system. I use it to check my progressions and other things during a flight. But, I have been told that it will interfere with the GPS system.
The problem is that they can not tell you what your altitude is. So, you don't know if you are above or below the minimum descent rate for your aircraft.
However, I have noticed that when you fly on the downwind leg of a crosswind, the Solis Lite will tell you that you are descending and you are not. The computer knows the wind is blowing at about 12 knots from the west. But, it is not blowing directly into your face. So, it is trying to tell you that you are descending but your descent rate is being affected by the wind. This may be a safety issue. But, I am not sure if that is how it works.
If you look at the wind charts, it shows that there is a gust of wind that is coming in from the west.
Does Solis Lite come with data?
Yes.
The Solis Lite version contains all the same features as Solis with the additional data.
If you have Solis installed in another location, you can transfer data to Solis Lite with this link: What is the difference between Solis and Solis Lite? Solis is the full version of our cloud-based business management software. Solis Lite is our free version of our cloud-based business management software. If you only want to see your data in a mobile or tablet app, Solis Lite will work for you. If you want to take full advantage of our cloud-based business management software, Solis is for you.
How do I transfer my data into Solis from another database? With Solis Lite, it's easy to transfer data from another database that uses the same database schema. After logging into Solis Lite, you'll be presented with this screen: Click on Import Data & Settings: Click on Import data and settings: Give your import file a name (it can be anything you like) and then choose whether you want to import CSV data, access data, or both. Select the option you want, and click Next: Click on Browse: Click on Choose File to open your file. If you select import both CSV and access data, you may receive a prompt to add the access file. Click on Add Access File:
Click on Import: What is this about my "access file"? For Solis Lite to use data from an Access file, you need to first add the access file to your import file. That is, you need to create an access file before you start importing. Once you have done so, you can skip the step of adding access data.
If you have created the access file in the same location as the import file, you can easily add access data to the import file by clicking on the import file and selecting "Access data". You can then choose to import either all the data or just the access data.
If you have created the access file in another location, you'll need to move the access file to the same location as the import file.
Is Skyroam Solis worth it?
I have been thinking about this a lot, and I decided to share my experience.
If you don't like it, I will refund your money.
There are many other options if you want to go solo, such as renting a bike, using a bike tour company, using a car or public transportation. I'm talking about Skyroam here and Skyroam is the only one I have experience with.
I bought the Skyroam solis last year for an outback trip. It was one of the things I was looking for that trip.
I had heard about the service from a friend and wanted to give it a try. The price looked pretty cheap at first and I was tempted to buy it. But then I remembered that it was not cheap to fly around the world. So I didn't buy it and I just used a hotel with private shower.
Since then, I haven't bought any plane tickets and haven't travelled. I thought that Skyroam was just fine but I don't think that I got my money's worth. So I have an experience to share.
If you're considering buying a Skyroam solis, please consider the pros and cons of it. If you still think it's worth it, I can offer my refund for you.
Some quick questions: Have you used it before? What was your experience? - Why did you not buy it? - Is there a better alternative now? Thank you for your time and thoughts. Last edited by nikitau; 11-22-2010 at 03:50 PM. Reason: Typo fixed. For the moment I am not going to buy another solis. When I return to Australia I will use the regular Skyroam. There is a flight from Brisbane to Cairns in the morning, so I will catch the next morning flight to Sydney.
I will not be using Skyroam on my next trip. I have a friend that will be coming with me and we both have to fly back to Asia after the trip.
So after travelling for a bit, I decided that I didn't need Skyroam anymore. Originally Posted by mrgibbons

I'm new to this forum and I am looking for some advice.
I live in Solis and have an AT&T wifi connection that goes through a Verizon phone (which was provided by the apartment complex) to my router which is a TP-Link model TL-WR841N.
The connection is always extremely slow. It's worse when my son and I are connected, even though we're not on the same network. It's not the fastest connection I've ever had. The connection speeds of other devices are faster than this.
At the end of this article, you will see the speeds that I have been getting. I have not updated it, because it hasn't been changed in days.
So, I am wondering if this is a problem with my router, or if it's the wifi or if it's the modem. The reason I ask is because I also use Comcast Xfinity and have a speed test, and the speeds I get from Comcast are much faster than this. It doesn't have to be a lot faster than what I have now, but it should better than what I get. I have tried to get this speed from the Comcast modem, but it says that I am not connected.
If you look at the screenshots above, you will see that I get less than 1 MB/s. This is very slow. I've also heard that I get a lot of disconnects, so that's why it's so slow.
I am going to start using Google Chrome, as it seems to be very stable. The speeds that I'm getting from the phone are as follows: From the wifi when my son and I are using it: Download speed: 0.2 MB/s Upload speed: 1.6 MB/s From the wifi when I'm using it: Upload speed: 0.4 MB/s So, my question is, does anyone have any idea why I am getting so low speeds? I have a link to the screenshot where you can see the speed test. My router is a TP-Link TL-WR841N.
