How do I reset my Asus AC68U router?

The Asus AC68U has several interesting features and a lot of advanced technology.

The main problems that people will face with the device are that it is easy to forget the admin password for the router. If you forget the password, you can follow the steps below to restore the default settings of the ASUS.com AC68U router. First, open up your web browser and type 192.168.10.1 in the address bar, and then log on to your router with the admin account and password provided.

Click the Device tab on the left and locate the Power Settings section. Click on System Settings next to Power On Settings and make sure that the Power-off when active option has been enabled. The device is now reset and will now start over with the default settings.

After following the above steps, if the Power Off When Inactive box is not ticked; do the following to reset the configuration: A router always sends different status messages while being on. There will also be notifications sent via email, and depending on the device, by instant message, or SMS. Some of them can be ignored or they can actually be very important in fixing your device. As one example, if your DSL modem gives you poor data service, the power status light on the router might start flashing and that could signal a hardware failure.

So how do I recognize my new Router Status notifications? Well, we can say that if a LED on the front of the router starts blinking, especially if it is not supposed to (as mentioned above), then that should get our attention. Of course, there is no one particular standard that must be followed, but this is quite a general idea.

You will get a notification if one of the lights start to flash; so if you want to avoid all your phones ringing every time a power status message is sent, then you could use a timer app for your Android Phone, or perhaps an iPad or iPod if you like.

How old is the Asus RT AC68U router?

The Asus RT AC68U is a router built around an Intel Atom x5 processor, so it's probably pretty old - more than 5 years.

Does the RT AC68U have enough ports for a LAN party? The RT AC68U has four Ethernet ports (one gigabit and three gigabit ports), so it's probably fine for a LAN party. Is this router the same as other Asus routers? Yes. Asus makes several types of wireless routers and a couple different types of home routers. The RT AC68U is just another of their home routers.

Which Asus routers should I buy? One thing to be aware of when choosing an Asus router is that they've improved their naming system in recent years. Some of the older Asus routers like the RT-N16 and RT-N66 are not as good as the newer routers. If you're looking for a better model, go with one of the latest models like the RT-AC68U or the RT-AX88U.

Can I use my own router's antennas and my own antennas for the Asus router? If you don't want to use a router for some reason, you can install a simple WiFi setup with a pair of antennas for each router and a few Ethernet cables. You'll have to find the right size antenna and there are lots of choices, but these are the most common ones.

Where can I find help installing a wireless setup? There are lots of great online tutorials and instructions for installing an Asus router and they usually cover all the common issues. Here are just a few: What kind of router would best for multiple users? If you need to have internet access from several devices at the same time then it might be a good idea to purchase a router that has three Ethernet ports. It would connect each device to the Internet in parallel and it would reduce the load on your modem and your internet service provider. In a multi-room setting, you'd only be sharing the one wireless router. This would mean less hassle and less bandwidth used for each device, especially if you have more than one device person using the Internet.

Are Asus routers always safe to use? Asus has always made their wireless routers safe for the user.

How do I access my ASUS router admin page?

I'm attempting to use the ASUS WL855N wireless router admin page.

I want to be able to use it as an internet wireless device. I have a Linksys router admin page but can't seem to locate it with the same credentials. What might be causing this? It's only one router, the linksys isn't set up like this at all.

You'll need a browser on a machine where you have access to the WiFi to be able to access the router's control page. If you just went to it from your desktop computer (or from another machine on the LAN connected via ethernet) it won't be able to "see" the WiFi.e. I believe this is by design and to prevent people from being able to "sniff" your WiFi traffic in order to steal your login information etc.

How do I access my Asus RT AC68U?

I have an RT-AC68U, which does not seem to work.

The Wi-Fi does not work, and I'm having problems updating the software. I'm going to be moving my router within the next week, and am currently without internet at my new location. I will need to access the file manager of the router to update the firmware if possible. Is there a way to do this? Do you have any tips for accessing it?

Do you have a different password than your log in password? In my RT-AC66U, I only set a password during setup and did not change it on any router configuration screen. All I did was setup the username and a different password.

I will look through some threads, but I am sure that some members here have done this more than me. Thanks for the help.

You do not have to. But what if you don't? You can still use the Asus toolbox to download the latest version to your computer. Once you do that you will notice the wifi light will turn on. If it does not, go into your control panel and change the password to your original one again. And voila! Your router is fixed.

If you do have to change the password, here are a few links where you can find the steps in a video, or written up as pictures. I suggest you look up the password and use the same letters/numbers in it that you used when you set the username. Like: RTpassword

If you do have to change the password, here are a few links where you can find the steps in a video, or written up as pictures. Like: RTpassword Thanks for the heads up man. Didn't know about that password section. Yeah, I remember. It just seemed like I had to change the password, so I never looked for a link for changing a password that is already in use. But, yeah. What do you know? The RT-AC68U still says that the password is empty even though the password has not been changed. I haven't tried resetting the router by plugging in an Ethernet cable. Maybe that will work.

I do not have any kind of wireless encryption set up. So maybe I don't even need to?
