That's a trick question, really.

What is exploding kittens could be the name of a song by David Bowie and/or a video game by Psyonix the developers behind Rocket League, which was released today for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. (We are being told to expect a sequel sometime next year. The game is free until August 8; you'll get 1,200 gold points after that.99).

Exploding Kittens it's like Cards Against Humanity meets Tetris meets a million cute animals who all have their own exploding special power cards? We don't know, as we are not big on Rummy or Settlers of Catan. But anyway, there are a lot of words about Rocket League that may make players think this is not quite the game it seems. Some think its real-time strategy meets FIFA meets Magic the Gathering, but that's probably because we like to play that kind of thing. Or perhaps it's more of a multiplayer online battle arena/sports game with cars driving around and hitting flying pads with soccer balls. It sure as hell can't be that simple, can it?

The truth is that we don't know if Rocket League has any rules or isn't a real sport at all, but we want to say that we do know some things about it. We have played and we're telling you about it as if were watching you play right now. All right? Okay, moving on.

People Will Play This Game And They Will Hate It. It's not really an RTS, we think, but sort of. There's no base building in Rocket League. Yes, you can build your own bases using money earned from playing matches, but you just pick things up as you go, and then you use those things to knock other players away from the ball or even to score yourselves. You never build a team; you're just one lone car pushing around a ball on a grid of points. We're guessing it reminds players of Super Mario Kart as much as Rocket League reminds us of something Mario Kart would be but never was.

This is a thing. A thing of rage.

Is Exploding Kittens multiplayer?

I'm not asking about gameplay or anything, I'm asking if there is any multiplayer aspect to Exploding Kittens?

Like you have a single deck, but you can play with 3-4 players. My game is a cooperative game, and I'm curious if this could possibly be implemented into the game, but I'm not sure if there's any room in the engine for that. The game is a card game, where players are given a hand of cards, and you play cards one at a time until you make a matching combination of the cards. This is usually done with the "matching rule" mechanic, where you can match two or more cards in the same suit.

To me, it seems like it'd be easy enough to just have a deck that has 6 cards in it, and have 4 decks for each player. Then you could have a turn timer. And whenever you do a card, you get to draw 4 cards from the deck. Then if you end up matching 3 cards in a row in the same suit, you get to discard the current 4 cards of that suit, and add those cards to the deck.

This is a very simple explanation of how I imagine it, but essentially what I want is for each player to have their own set of cards, and you have a turn timer. When you have a turn, you draw a set amount of cards from each deck, and once you match three cards in a row, you're allowed to discard the current cards of those suits, and add them to the deck. And that's how it would work.

Obviously, this is my own idea of how to implement it. But is this actually possible in the engine? I've been looking around for a long time, and I haven't found anything.

@Nemad - It is actually possible. You can put any number of decks on the player side of the board. The only problem is that you can't use the auto-remove function if you use that many decks. You would need to manually delete cards when you run out of cards.

So you will need to keep track of how many cards you have in each deck. But you could still make it so that you never run out of cards, because it's easy to just make the new deck of cards bigger.
