I would recommend that anyone who enjoyed the core game of Exploding Kittens should get the free expansions to see what all the fuss is about. Those familiar with Cards Against Humanity have been enjoying the same game experience in a totally different form. That's the kind of flexibility I like, so I really did think the new campaign packs were worth the price.

Expansion Pack 1: I'm a cat person. My fiance has owned about a dozen cats for most of her life. There's a family history, something I appreciate. I've been doing a lot of gaming lately.

My wife and I have been playing together and I've been playing more games with my son (and his little friend) because he is into board games. My son was playing a game called Exploding Kittens and I suggested we try that out for a change. My son and his friend started playing the game, and I just got the rules. The way it works is that you are given a few cards in a deck, you and your opponent each draw 7 cards from the deck. You can play a card from the deck if you like, or you can pass. When you pass, you both get one point. If you play a card you will discard that card and then you will get a new card from the deck.

The rules are really simple and easy to follow. I went over the rules with my son before we started and then we played two games of it. The rules are a bit more complex than most other card games, but the learning curve is not too steep. The only tricky part of the rules is when you want to pass but you end up with a card that you want to keep, you have to get out of that card situation by getting rid of it.

The game is pretty much a mix between Poker and War. For one thing, you have all the cards in the deck. Your opponent has access to all the cards. But there is also a twist, each time you pass, you will be given a new card from the deck. This means your opponent does not know what card you have until you play it.

The other game aspect is that the cards are all exploding kittens. The card is designed so that if you do not draw any cards from the deck for the next 15 turns, it will blow up. This might seem to make it much harder for the game, but I think it works against itself in a nice way. There are a few cards that are free if you want to draw them, but if you don't want to draw them, you should still go ahead and draw them. It makes the game feel a little bit like poker where there is a chance you could win the game without drawing a hand worth winning.

As you can see, the art on the cards is quite good. The cat in particular looks like he is about to explode!
