Does Google have a digital photo frame?
I'd like one.
Google has said that a digital photo frame is coming. I, for one, would like to know how it works.
Specifically, I'd like a digital photo frame that displays three photos at once and is controlled via a computer and a keyboard. It'd be nice if you could change the display in real time without having to wait for the computer to finish. I'd also like to know what it costs.
I'm sure there's plenty of them out there already, but I'm pretty sure they're not Google branded. Also I'd like to know how good the picture quality is as that's sort of the whole point of it.
This seems like a nice niche that would fit nicely into many other niches (including home automation). The digital photo frame has been discussed to death already, but if you really are so interested in such a thing, there are currently three known products available in the UK: The Apple iPhoto Frame - 130.50 The Sony CVP-B9 - 170.00 The NEC CPD-D8 - 250.00 All these are relatively pricey, but you can get them all bundled together. You can also find out a lot more about these here: There are other digital frames available in the US, but I don't know if any of them are available in the UK. And since we're on the subject of home automation, perhaps I'll see if anyone else has an alternative to my idea. We have an existing computer and internet connection in the home and our family consists of adults, so we can't really use this as a home-automation system.
Well I wouldn't say that the "digital photo frame" has been discussed to death. I think most people just haven't been paying attention to it. It's the same thing as the iPhoto or Picasa or whatever people were looking for.
I'm going to be using the pictures I post on Flickr to create a slideshow and then email it to the family. I can program the slideshow to show them what happened during the week. I imagine it'll take a little bit of work to get the email to the right size and to be formatted nicely, but once that's done, it's easy.
How do I add a photo frame to Google Photos?
I want to add a simple picture frame for my children's vacation photos in Google Photos. The image I've uploaded into the Google Photos app on my iPhone looks like this, but when I click Add Frame, I just see blank.
My other photos include text overlay information which doesn't come through when adding a frame. I've already tried changing the photo resolution and using various size images and I still get no frames.
I've also tried using the camera button within the Google app to add a frame to a still photo but it also fails to show the new frame. I really prefer to be able to edit these photos before uploading them to Google as I'm used to editing with Adobe Lightroom. 3 Answers. First select the frame from the app you want (eg. Snapchat) or click Add Frame if the photo type doesn't offer it (like for a regular photo). If the frame is added correctly you should be able to use it in both apps.
Google Photos adds frames as you take the photo so they are saved along with the original image. If you take a picture and then choose to remove frames before adding it to Google Photos they'll be removed too. If you keep all the originals you can add frames anytime though and the overlaid info will show on any added frames. However, I'm a bit confused by the last part of your explanation: What you say here about when you take a photo and choose to remove frames. After that you're back in the Google Photos app and the original pic shows the added (invisible) frame. But I'm still puzzled about whether you're saying that all my frames are removed, or whether I need to open another instance of Google Photos from then on (not in a separate app as before) in order to keep them. Would be grateful for some further clarification on this - is there any way I can view "other" photos/albums within my Google Drive account, or am I left guessing if they're in there, out there or maybe never? Thanks again.
I believe all photos are always removed.
What is the best free app for photo frames?
How about video frames?
A lot of photo frame apps for iPhone work by taking a shot, inserting it into a frame with a grid and overlaying text/pictures, or even some animation. The problem with many of these is that they all need to rely on an iPhone app to get the shot, and some only have one image size to work with.
One app I've found quite useful for my own needs is 'Free Photo Frames', it does everything you can do in other frame apps and more. If you're looking for something a little bit different for your iPhone you'll want to check it out. What this means for us today is that it comes with no ads or annoying notifications.
If you really hate ads even more than me (yes, there's a thing), you could always try using something like Unihan Free instead, which has an open-source nature. Free Photo Frames was created by Jonny Bussmann, a German developer who has worked for companies like EA and Ubisoft. He created Free Photo Frames as a hobby and quickly found himself making the app more useful than he intended to be. It's been downloaded over 1 million times since then.
For his efforts, Jonny Bussmann has been awarded the App of the Year and Best of Android in their category. He also worked with Google to develop a free, ad-free Calendar app for Android users.
I was fortunate to talk to Jonny about what he's been up to in the past year, including his recent development of Android 5.0, and why Free Photo Frames is so awesome (you'll never use another photo frame again, right? So, read on for everything you need to know about Jonny Bussmann and his work.
(Disclosure: This interview was conducted after we became fast friends - I didn't take photos and he didn't edit them for this article.
