Can I be tracked if I use NordVPN?
How is it possible to protect myself from any form of tracking even if I use VPN?
How does NordVPN operate? Is it a real VPN or a proxy? Can you show me some documents stating that? Is the data encrypted and stored on Amazon's servers, or on the company's servers? If it's stored on the latter, do you have any evidence to prove this? I've looked at NordVPN's FAQ and in their privacy policy it says: "NordVPN will retain logs for 45 days and dispose of them after that." This doesn't really give any information about where the log is saved. I've tried digging in a few places with search engine results about what countries NordVPN operates in, but the results are unclear to me because all the links redirect me back to the main page of the domain. How does this help me?
Does NordVPN have plans to release its source code to the public? And, finally, if there's another tool for secure, private communication that is not only free, but is also legal? We would like to thank you for contacting us to raise a concern. As mentioned in our FAQ, we don't keep logs. In addition, the following document explains what we store on our servers and where it is stored.
Thank you once again for your interest in NordVPN. We look forward to your feedback.
Can you tell me something about the servers, are they in America? Do they use US jurisdiction or not? Are they based in US or Europe? If they're based in Europe, is their location in EU or UK? The data servers are in a location which is neither EU nor UK. Please find here some additional information on the subject. We hope that this answers your question completely.
Thank you once again for contacting us. If you have any questions or remarks regarding this topic, please do not hesitate to write to support@nordvpn. ?
Does NordVPN really protect you?
NordVPN has been the subject of many concerns in regards to privacy and anonymity.
So, I decided to take a closer look into the way it operates, how it protects you, and what kind of issues might be lurking beneath the hood.
While NordVPN is probably one of the most used VPNs in the world, many people still have questions about how it works, whether or not it really protects you, and what it might do to your traffic. In this article, I'll take a closer look at NordVPN and see what its weaknesses are. I'll try to make it clear as possible, which questions are legitimate, and which are more of an elaborate attempt at trolling.
What is NordVPN? NordVPN is a VPN provider based in Panama. They also happen to be one of the oldest VPN providers, having been founded in 2026.
Their motto is We are a VPN company that cares about your privacy. And that's exactly what they do. They offer dedicated servers for Windows, Linux, and Mac, which is ideal for people who don't want to download the software and install it on their computer.
They also offer unlimited plans for both static IPs and dynamic IPs. You can find out more about NordVPN here. How does NordVPN work? NordVPN makes use of servers located in the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Romania, Switzerland, USA, and the Netherlands. The company's servers are connected to various VPN services in order to ensure high speeds and excellent customer support. However, as you can see from the above screenshot, the connection between the server and the VPN service is encrypted. This prevents the government from reading the data you send or receive.
NordVPN doesn't store any of your personal data, which is another good thing. It also allows you to disconnect from the server if you want to.
Is NordVPN safe to use? In my opinion, NordVPN is one of the safest VPNs in the world. I'm not saying that it's perfect, but I am saying that it's one of the safest VPNs out there.

Do I need antivirus if I have a VPN?
I've got a VPN and I want to know if I need anti-virus software?
I don't think you need any antivirus software for that. Unless you're planning on downloading files from untrusted sources, the chances of you getting infected is pretty much zero. If you do, you can always just remove the application (if it's an installer) or reinstall the system.
With your VPN connection, you are effectively in another network; so in that context, I would recommend having anti-virus software. This should protect you from malicious emails/links, if you are opening attachments. It won't protect you from malicious websites (or malware in general), though.
