Is Comodo still free?

It's been a couple of years since I bought Comodo's last free version of their Antivirus.

It was one of the first AV's I tried and had some good features like its anti-spyware feature and ability to scan for deleted files.

However, I have heard that Comodo has moved on to some new ideas and there is a charge for their products. I have never paid for their product so I have no idea how good it is.

What do you guys think? Can you still download Comodo for free? I bought Comodo a couple of years ago when they were offering a free version and paid for it for several months. It was ok but they have changed quite a bit from what I remember. I have heard good things about the new version but don't know anything about it. I would be interested in finding out more.

Comodo isn't a bad AV at all. I don't think it has any major flaws. It does have the ability to scan for deleted files though which is cool. The only thing I didn't like was that it had a tendency to run a program and then shut itself down. That happens a lot with it.

Also if your running XP and you are getting the error message "The Microsoft.NET Framework (version 2.0.50727) is not installed on your computer." when you try to install Comodo then you need to make sure that you have .NET 2.0 installed.NET Framework (version 2.50727) is not installed on your computer.

Ok, thanks for the info. I will look into this error message. Do you know how to solve it? Also, I am not running Windows XP. I am running Vista. I know I have .Net 2.0 already installed.

I've been using Comodo Firewall for over a year now and was curious how safe it is?

The company that sells it, Comodo, has had some major security vulnerabilities recently, one of which was a bug that gave attackers access to your computer, and that made me think maybe it's not that great after all. I think its decent for basic use as a home user firewall but if you have the time to do more than that I would recommend you just buy a nice Firewall such as Zonealarm or Sophos (although I don't know what the differences are between their firewalls). This could be a good thing, since Comodo is currently the only company producing a free antivirus/firewall. You could try out Comodo's free version before you decide on other products, since you won't pay anything.

Comodo is an extremely useful program in my opinion. It has many features which really helps to enhance productivity. This includes the ability to scan and defrag your entire drive or network directory, scan your computer with a built-in virus checker and then run an online virus check on any new programs and updates automatically, and many more features which I am not going to list here.

I have no experience using Comodo and have never had a virus problem with my desktop PC, but my laptop has always been up-to-date and always free of viruses. My laptop doesn't have much on it, as it is only used for browsing the web and surfing the net. I'm sure someone else will tell us why they feel Comodo Firewall is the best choice out of all the firewalls.

ZA is the best software I've ever seen for home use. It's easy to use and has a lot of security options you may never have thought of, such as: File Integrity Monitoring, Password protection, Internet Security and much more.
