I'm trying to authenticate a proxy in Java.

I know I can do this in a lot of languages, but I'm looking for a solution in Java.

I'm trying to do this in a program that needs to access some webpages from an outside server (like a game client). The program will run on my local machine, and it will connect to a remote server via the internet. So I need to use a proxy that I can control. I already have a way to connect to the proxy, but I don't know how to authenticate.

I want to setup a proxy with HTTP and HTTPS support. For my application I want to implement a proxy which implements a custom authentication system.

Can anyone tell me the way for this? The system has some web services which is only available for authenticated users. The system should forward the request from proxy to these web services. And the system should return a JSON response.
