How to install SOCKS5?
After much research and testing, I have discovered that the answer to my question is no.
Although I can connect to a server on port 80 using the SOCKS5 protocol, I cannot connect to my home network using the SOCKS5 protocol. My network has a router at 192.168.1 and it has a DNS server running at 192.254.
I used a tool called mtr to test this out, and mtr connects directly to the router but not to the DNS server. The mtr -n test.ping.example.com works fine, but mtr -n test.local doesn't work.
