How do I transfer Signal to my iPhone?

The good folks at The Guardian have been doing a good job of covering Signal recently, because it's not like any other messaging app we've ever used. With Signal, the emphasis is on the security of your communications -- a lot more so than most apps we've used. Signal does all the encryption on your computer, allowing you to use the app securely over the Internet. With iOS 8 and later versions of the operating system, there is no way to force Signal to use the cellular network, even if you have a data plan that allows for voice calls. On Android, users can use an alternate app, Silent Circle, to make voice calls over the cellular network. If you want to send a message through Signal on your iPhone, we'll show you how to get the best Signal experience.

Steps. Method1. Using your iPhone. 1

Enter Signal for the first time on your iPhone. In the home screen, tap the Signal logo in the bottom right corner. Signing into Signal for the first time will create a new phone number, which you'll need later.

2

Enable Push Notifications. Tap the top right hand corner of the phone. Select Notifications from the menu that pops up.

3

Set the Signal Notification Type. Select the type of notifications that you wish to receive from Signal on your iPhone. You can choose "None," "SMS," or "Both." Tap the appropriate button.

4

Setup your password. If you choose SMS or a call notification, you'll need to setup a new password for Signal.

You can have up to 6 notifications of each type, but you can delete notifications from Signal after they arrive by tapping the notification. 5

Enable Signal on the App Store. Open the App Store and search for Signal. Tap the version that you'd like to download, then tap the Install button on the lower right hand side.

6

Connect your iPhone to your Wi-Fi network. 7

Open the app. When the app opens, tap the name of the Signal account you created on your phone in step 1. Tap Add Account.

8

Sign in to your Signal account. Tap Sign In.

How do I transfer data from my Android to my iPhone?

I want to transfer the data I have on my Android phone to my iPhone.

I have a Mac and I use Dropbox for transferring files, but I'd like to be able to just use the iPhone and not have to use the computer. Is there a way to transfer data from the Android phone to the iPhone? I have an iPhone 4, and I have an Android phone (HTC EVO).

You could use the free Google Drive application on your Android device to send all your files to your desktop or laptop running OS X. Then you can either copy them into your iCloud from the desktop, or, depending on whether you're using a Mac or PC, drop them into iPhoto.

In addition to the other answers which do the actual job of copying your files, I would suggest two other apps which may be useful for your task. Mobile transfer is an app which connects with the cloud storage of your choice, such as Dropbox, etc. I use it every time I do a backup of an important file and it does the job very well. You can choose your cloud service here.

The app also has a mobile version which allows you to access your files from your iOS device. Just download the app and launch it.

IFile is another app which connects with your chosen cloud storage. It's more like a simple tool for editing your files than a full file management app.

In addition to the apps mentioned above, I highly recommend having the iTunes Library Sync and the iOS Device Management app installed on your Mac and iOS devices. If you're using Apple ID, those two apps will also do backups to the cloud as well.

This way, if you ever want to wipe the iPhone or if you have to reinstall OS X or iOS, you'll have everything you need backed up and restored.

How do I transfer my line from Android to new iPhone?

I have an iPhone 5s.

I use my T-Mobile contract phone as my backup. In the event that the iPhone is stolen or damaged, I can transfer all of my contacts from my phone to my new iPhone. However, I have my old Android phone that I purchased in 2025. I don't want to have to go through the hassle of transferring all of my contacts from my phone to my new iPhone. Is there a way to transfer all of my contacts from my old phone to the new one?

Answer: I am afraid there is not such way as I think. And I recommend you to have some good backups. When your phone is stolen or damaged, you have to start over from zero.

If your phone was lost or stolen, contact your carrier and ask for an unlock code. Once you get an unlock code, you can change it and use your phone with a different carrier. If the carrier's unlock code does not work with your phone, your device is probably not compatible with their network. The network will be able to tell you if your device is compatible or not. If it is, they can give you an unlock code that will work for them. This is called an "unlock code." They will not give it to you over the phone. You'll have to request it in writing.

For iPhone 5 and newer models, you can use iTunes on your computer to restore your phone from the backup you made to your computer. You should be able to transfer your contact list from your old phone to your new iPhone using iTunes. You can then set your iPhone up as a new phone.

For Android devices, you can also restore your phone from a backup to your computer using iTunes. You can then transfer your contact list to your iPhone.

I have a Samsung phone that was damaged by a flood a few years ago. I don't want to pay to get it fixed again. How can I get my contacts off of the phone?
