Who is the owner of Signal Foundation?
In a recent post of mine I explained that one reason Signal Foundation went down is because the new owner of the service was too busy with other things.
He was apparently quite swamped, and it was quite a challenge to keep up. I've kept up my end of the bargain; I've been updating the blog almost daily. But there are a couple of things that I didn't mention in that post.
I received some feedback from Signal Foundation users who had problems installing Signal on their new computers after upgrading to Windows 8.0. I was also informed by some of these users that they contacted support at Signal about this problem and the issue was reportedly not taken care of by Signal support.
Since then I've been trying to get more information on what's going on. The Signal service seems to be back, but Signal support is still offline, even though the blog has been updated. As you can probably guess, this is the same guy that was too busy with other things. This leads me to believe that this problem is not fixed, or not yet fixed.
Here is the message that I received after attempting to contact Signal support: I'm sorry we're currently experiencing technical difficulties due to high call volumes. We'll let you know when we can resume our usual service levels.
What I found strange about this is that Signal support responded to all my questions and issues in the first 48 hours that I used the service, so this was clearly a problem within Signal itself. Yet, after two days they hadn't gotten the problem fixed, or not to my knowledge. If there are other users experiencing the same issue and contact Signal support about it, then obviously this is not working well.
And if they don't know about the problem or how to fix it, how are they supposed to respond? Update: It appears that something is up with their website. Now when I attempt to access the main page (or any page), I get the following message: You need a newer version of Internet Explorer than 9.0 to use this site. Please upgrade your browser or use an alternate Web site.
Since this is the first time I have seen this message, I decided to contact Signal support to see what their response is.
What does the Signal Foundation do?
Signal Foundation provides a platform for creating, managing, and monetizing social media content.
The platform connects users to advertisers and publishers who are willing to pay for the exposure.
Signal is a multi-platform social media management app that allows users to create, manage, and monetize their social media presence. It's been around since 2025 and currently has over 600,000 daily active users. Signal's mobile app, which is used to manage the user's social media presence, was downloaded over 500,000 times from Google Play in 2025 alone.
The Signal app has a very simple, user-friendly interface. You can use it on any mobile device without an internet connection. Signal is available on iOS, Android, and Windows platforms.
The Signal Foundation provides an investment platform for Signal and its various business models. The Signal Foundation is a nonprofit organization with an objective of providing a platform for Signal and its various business models. In short, it helps entrepreneurs to fund the development of the Signal platform by providing a marketplace for all its associated services.5 million in its first year of existence.
You can read the Signal Foundation's whitepaper here. What is the Signal Foundation? Why is Signal asking for donations?
Signal started this year to allow the users to support the development of the project, by supporting Signal with funds.
The idea is to keep Signal free for everyone, and even more to have an optional monthly membership option so that users can support the development of Signal in any way they like, while the company doesn't get a single cent from it. For now, we just want to be able to keep developing our products for free. If you like what we're doing and want to help, please consider a donation here.
Signal has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2025 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 679058. You can read more about them here.
We are not funded by Google nor Facebook, they don't care about open-source software. We are funded by the community. And that is why the open source community is so important to us.
How does Signal compare to WhatsApp? WhatsApp has over a billion users. You could say it's Facebook's crown jewel. Facebook, the owner of WhatsApp, has a special relationship with WhatsApp. And the relationship is basically one-sided they make money off WhatsApp.
Signal, on the other hand, is open-source. It doesn't have any commercial ties to any party. Signal is a decentralized protocol with no central entity. It doesn't ask for any data from its users, which means there's nothing for Facebook to gain from providing Signal. Signal is also encrypted end-to-end.
The encryption isn't perfect, but it's enough for us to feel safe and confident that our communications stay private. WhatsApp has been found to send data unencrypted to Facebook even after they knew it was a security issue and could not be fixed.
How does Signal work? So here's a very simple example: Alice wants to talk to Bob on Signal. Bob sets up a new account on Signal.
Is Signal Russian owned?
(I mean is it possible)
Signals: The system of signals which you use (including the number of clicks and the interval between them) will depend on whether you are dealing with people or with animals. We advise that you take as a standard rule 1 click per minute for people and 5-10 seconds for animal which is standing, running or charging.
People: If you are in the company of people, you can take some basic safety measures when communicating by signals. There are two main problems here: firstly, we can never know, in advance, what they will do at any particular moment, secondly you cannot be in full contact with them at all times. If possible, please ask them not to shout, make a loud noise or wave their arms around wildly in front of your eyes. It is better to make it easier for them to communicate with you by giving them the opportunity to raise their hand when you are close by.
You could also choose to wear ear plugs as this might reduce some of the effects of noise, but if you do this, try to ensure they remain inside your ear until you have completed the signal. If they drop out unexpectedly and fall on the floor before you reach the person you wish to signal it is best to remove them as soon as possible to prevent ear infections. It is wise to remove them whenever a conversation takes place or while someone is in bed etc.
It is often useful to train yourself to recognise the signals and actions of the people close to you. It will help you avoid being startled at any time when they do such things as yawning, sighing or sneezing.
If they are wearing glasses, ask them to lift their hands for at least 1 minute after you hear the words hand up so that you can see if there are any signs of eye damage from the glasses. If they wear contact lenses tell them to take them off and remove them well before you communicate. Contact lenses allow you to look up or down, right or left, depending on where you are pointing in the room. But you should avoid any sudden movements of the head.
Animal: This could apply to cats, dogs, horses etc. Some animals are more difficult to handle than others. Please remember that if the animal is agitated, either by fear or by physical pain, it is better to do the signal quietly.
