Is Thor still king of Asgard?

Or has the Dark Elf taken his place?

The story continues with Thor and Loki having a new problem. Loki is on a quest to destroy all the magical items that Odin has given him and Thor is trying to find his way back home.

All the while the Dark Elf is making a power play for Asgard and the throne. Thor is still the King of Asgard, but will he make it home in time to save his people? A powerful story that is a must read for fans of the Dark Elves and the Dark Arts. For an author you don't have to be an expert to write, but you do need a good imagination and a feeling for the characters. The story, as I said, is told through a series of different points of view, and you are kept guessing as to who you are reading from.

With a cast of characters that are very well thought out and believable, you can enjoy this story all the more. It is a dark tale, that will keep you turning the pages as the story progresses. Thor and Loki have a new problem to deal with - the Dark Elf has stolen Odin's magical items and is on the rampage to destroy them all. The Dark Elves want to reclaim their kingdom and Thor is on a mission to stop them, but first he needs to find his way back to Asgard and save the day.

The Dark Elves have invaded Asgard and taken over. Thor, Loki and Sif are captured by the evil Dark Elves and sent to one of their most sacred places, which is where they are about to meet their deaths. But then Thor and Loki escape. They are now on a quest to get back home to Asgard, to save the day and prevent the destruction of the Dark Elves. If you liked The Dark Elves book series by Richard Salter, you will love this new adventure. In 'The Darkness', when Loki and Thor were captured, the Dark Elves made them work in their slave labour mines, and were planning to do the same to the captives. So with the Dark Elves out of the way, they can now concentrate on Asgard and free their friends. Thor and Loki have to try and escape from their underground prison and make it back to Asgard. But the Dark Elves are not finished with them yet.

Where exactly is Asgard?

It's all a bit hazy.

This place just doesn't seem to exist on any maps, and that's how I like it. I feel that the universe would be too confusing to try to keep track of everything. So instead, we'll stick to the small circle that we know as Jotunheim, home of the giants.

I remember watching the film series Thor with my family and thinking that Asgard is a beautiful place, but also being a bit confused about why there were so many things in this far away place. They've done a lot of work on the visual effects, but I still can't quite wrap my head around how they made Asgard look so far away from the rest of the world. Let's find out!

How did they do it? One of the best things about the movie was seeing Thor go from ancient warrior to having the tools and technology that he needed to defend his home kingdom. It was the first time I thought that it wasn't fair that we didn't actually go to Asgard. Sure we had little glimpses in The Dark World, but no proper visit. Let's take a look at what they achieved.

What they used to achieve this effect are the various VFX shots and the different levels of 'jumping' to other worlds. To create Asgard it takes multiple cameras - one on location on what they call the Asgard Base (it's definitely not as cool a name as that sounds like), another in Germany for the ship shots, a third one for the spaceship shots, another one for Odin's palace or Castle. They then assemble them in a computer and move pieces around as they think it looks best. It's not the most accurate way of going about it - because you can't exactly move people and structures around the location they shot for - but it's better than nothing I guess.

Let's take a look at this location first. It's the largest set in the movie and has some serious scale. This image shows the inside of the base set - which is the inside of Asgard. All of this will be on a stage surrounded by mountains where the action of the shots will take place.
