What is the DNS 8.8 8.8 host name?

I've been trying to get a general overview of what the hostname, eg the part of the address I use to open websites with, is.

I've been looking at but I still have no idea. What are the DNS 8.8 host names? I know I can type: nslookup (I'm looking up @dyndns.org ) and it shows me a list of what I would expect, but where is this list of host names stored? Is there a website where I can see this, and is it a free, paid, or some other cost service?

On a DynDNS host, you will see a set of text files at /etc/dyndomains/domainname. This is the zone file for that domain. If you look into that file, it has a list of records (such as hosts or A records), with each record describing a name resolution request/response.

When I create my host, I look into that file to see what records are required to resolve an IP.
