How to get a QA tester job without experience?

How do I become a tester with no experience?

I was trying to make the best out of the current situation and it seems the only way to get in is to become a tester.

However I am at a loss, I do not even know how to start. Is there any way to become a tester without any testing experience?

There are no special requirements to become a tester. You just need to be interested in a specific aspect of the software and you can get in through the regular testing process.

If you have the chance to ask the team lead or a more experienced tester, you can get an idea of what is usually required. For example, we had to write a test case for a new feature. The feature was already functional and just needed to be polished. We were given a bug from the customer and asked to verify if it still exists.

I don't think it's necessary to have testing experience to become a tester. I think there are many people who have never tested, yet are still able to do so.

If you have no testing experience but want to start testing, you can start by reading some books or articles on the subject and then practice writing your own test cases for some projects you have. As you gain more experience you'll be able to develop your own test plans, write your own test cases, and even write test coverage. I'm the developer of the project you mention in the question, and I've been a tester for several years, so I can offer you my experience on this issue. You are right that the only way to become a tester is to go through the testing process. There are other ways to become a tester, but they are usually not as direct, and they also have some limitations.

A tester is someone that tests the software. A tester is not someone that writes code or has a background in software development. We can say that testers are the "eye" of the project, but not the "brain" of the project.

A tester needs to have a good knowledge of the project, since he/she needs to know which test cases to write, how to write them, how to write test cases, how to prioritize test cases, how to manage test cases, how to analyze test cases, and so on.

How to get a QA tester job without experience?

What is the quickest way to get a job as a QA tester?

A friend of mine has a very good relationship with one of the CEO's at a company she works for. She was introduced to the CEO and got a phone interview and since then she has been told that if she wants the job she will have to do it. What is the quickest way to get a job?

You know, I'm a big fan of being "gifted" positions. And this seems to be a pretty good one, from what she's told me.

So, if anyone knows how to make this happen, please share. I think it would be awesome if she got this job in the near future.

Re: ? Hey thanks for the responses. Well I just want to do whatever I can to help my friend. My job is to make it happen, no matter how long it takes. I have already started working on the resume and cover letter. If I get the job I will do what I can to promote her.

She also said that the first interview will be with the president of the company. Is that normal for a QA position? Originally Posted by chrisman123. Thanks for the help, guys. It looks like you all have a different idea of how to get a QA tester job.

I'm glad you were able to find a position for your friend, though. I'll be looking for jobs for people too. The closest thing I've found is with an employment agency, but they expect a lot more than I have.

It's not a QA position, it's called Software Engineering. She's probably doing what a lot of entry-level programmers do, creating automated tests for new applications.

They are certainly not going to hire you because you worked on a web site. But, if you have a portfolio of projects you did, you can tell them about them. I'd start with the "What would you need to be successful in this position?" questions. Tell them you have the skills they are looking for and have some code samples to prove it.

Do I need experience to be a QA tester?

(in my case, not really)?
britomatoes: you don't need to have it specific experience, however a solid background on things would help. ok thanks. jak2000: the other thing is to think about what you do day to day and try and use some of that to understand why this error occurs. in software center it only has wine appdb (why)? jak2000: it's a project managment tool. jak2000: you can view their other projects. ok. Hello, I had a question: I ran ubuntu-live USB, when I try to install it doesn't install the bootloader so i'm stuck on BIOS right now. MisterL: what ubuntu version is that

12.04.
MisterL: then when you hit boot, you are not going to be presented with a menu, but it should take you straight to grub2 - not sure why there is an issue with the system you are trying to install to though. Okay i'll boot from grub, I'll install to a different partition. sorry, meant an option. Thanks! if I set dns-search to point to an http server I want to forward queries to, and I also add that hostname to my /etc/hosts file, does that mean when I open a browser, the browser won't try to search for the website because it's in my /etc/hosts? I was told to look at hostnames when opening a browser but maybe I need to be clear about what I do. Is this my first time trying to configure dns search using a dns resolv.conf file?
