Re: ? A simple solution, uninstall flashblock, and use adblock plus instead. A better solution would be to install noscript. You can either block videos from YouTube, or block all videos with noscript. This will prevent your browser from downloading the flash object, which means youtube won't work.

If you want an easy way to block everything and keep flashblock, I suggest using a user script. For this, go to download the script, and drag it into the script folder in chrome. That's all!

As you pointed out, Noscript, I tried to remove flashblock and I couldn't. It won't let me uninstall.

I also tried uninstalling flashplayer then reinstalling it and it didn't help. I still can't remove flashblock.

It's a little late, but I just had this problem as well, and I've just come across a solution (though it doesn't actually work, the only thing it did was stop me from having youtube open, and it started working again after I clicked on a video. I'm not sure if it's a glitch or not).

Basically, I found that my Firefox settings were set to not allow plugins to run from the harddrive, meaning when you click on a youtube video, the plugin loads before the html file has loaded. To fix this, you need to go to "File" > "Settings" > "General" > "User Scripts" > "Load User Scripts", and tick "Allow local scripts to run".

I've been trying to block certain channels on YouTube using the blocklist app.

However, some of the channels I want to block do not appear on the list. I've tried looking in the "search for videos" page but it seems that the blocklist app only lists channels based on a specific search criteria. Is there a way to get around this?

For the YouTube app and the desktop site, you need to go to and then go to "Blocked Channels." You can manually add them or just select "All sites" which will include them all. Once you have added the channel you want to block, you should be able to remove it from there.

To block channels on YouTube click on the menu icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, then choose Settings > Content & Privacy > Manage channel settings > Block other channels > Add channels. You can also add the channels directly to your blocklist. There's a button at the top of the screen for that.

It'll show up in the search bar if you're logged into YouTube, or else you'll have to manually enter the channel url.

It's kind of annoying that some channels are not blocked, and you have to wait until you can view them, and then you find out that they were blocked and you have to wait a few days. I just found a way to do it and I found a few more that were not blocked: ? You can if you use the new 'Add to Block' function. It was not available in the past (I've been using it for about a week). You can also block a whole playlist of channels by selecting them in the 'Channels' menu under the main settings and adding them to the list.

I'm not sure why Google removed it, but I'd bet that they didn't want people to be able to block certain channels. If so, it's a stupid move, as many people love these kind of channels. It was not available in the past (I've been using it for about a week).
