How do I recover my Norton account?

How do I find my Norton subscription?

You can use your last four credit card billing numbers and their corresponding security codes to log in.

If you haven't used your credit card recently, you may need to call or email us for a new number. If you have forgotten your credit card information, we have made it easy to create a new account using your Social Security number.

How do I add another credit card or payment option? If you want to add more payment options for your Norton subscription, visit Norton.com/addcreditcard and follow the prompts. To make a purchase, you can sign in and select the subscription plan that you want, then use the "Add Credit Card" button.

What is a credit card? A credit card is a financial tool that is offered by banks, retailers, and other financial institutions. Credit cards are designed to help you manage your finances, and they provide a convenient way for you to pay for goods or services without having to carry cash. With a credit card, you give your bank permission to borrow money from you so that it can pay you back at a later date.

When you use a credit card, you are agreeing to repay the amount you owe the credit card company as soon as possible. If you don't make a payment on time, your bank could report your account as delinquent. If you become delinquent, the credit card company can begin to charge interest to your credit card account.

How do I access my online payment history? To view your payment history, you can log in to Norton.com, click My Account, and then click My History. This is the place to view all of your payment activity on your Norton subscription.

You can also access your payment history by calling the customer service center at 877-764-1142 or by sending an email to Norton.com Support@norton.

How do I check my Norton password? If you forget your password, you can reset it by going to the Norton.com website, clicking Account in the menu on the left, and then clicking Forgot Password.

If you forgot your account number, you can find it by calling the customer service center at 877-764-1142 or by sending an email to Norton.

How do I login to my Norton account?

The first screen you see when you launch Norton, as shown in Figure 1-1.

From the Norton menu, select OptionsAccounts to choose what you want to access. For example, you may only want to access online services such as Norton Shopping or Online BackupShopping, which can also be found on a submenu.

When you see the account choices that you want to use, just click OK. If you click the link or button next to Password, you enter your password, just as if you were at the site where you signed in to Norton.

Checking Norton settings. In many respects, Norton is a streamlined Web experience: You don't need to know anything special to use it because almost all the options that you would use at other sites are already set up for you by default. You can check how many licenses have been activated or whether any are expired or revoked (revoked means that your key has been used to activate an installation that wasn't yours; you can find out whether this is the case by going to the Norton page, viewing the details of the products that you have installed, and then clicking the Manage Your Account link) or activated and revocable.

If you're looking for any kind of control over your account changing your password, activating a license, or revoking one look at the "Managing your subscriptions" section that begins on the second page of the site. If you do manage to make any changes, you can always go back to the account screen. Select Log Out if you want to log out, or select Change Password if you want to change your password.

Finding and deleting temporary files. One of the best features of Norton's interface is its ability to find files it stores or deleted from your PC. I describe Norton's Search function in detail in Chapter 11, but the main areas of interest on this page are the list of Recent Documents and the list of Temporarily Saved Documents.

If you want to get rid of temporary files you no longer need (to free up space on your hard drive, for example), follow these steps: Click the Files tab at the top of the screen. Click Find Files.

How do I stop Norton from taking money?
