When you cast a website like the BBC or CNN to your TV via Chrome cast, the webpages will display normally.

However, when you watch videos, they only show the bottom part of the screen. You can see the video but the top part of the web page and your web browser is covered by a black box. Here's how to fix it:

It's due to the DRM and content-protection services which Google Play has set up, blocking access to external speakers (because it claims these devices are used to commit copyright violations). How do I connect my Chromecast to my TV?

When you first set up Chromecast, it asks whether or not you want to make your Google account the primary account for streaming and other settings.

Choose Yes to enable Chromecast on your Chromecast and use it as you would with any of your other entertainment devices.

If you haven't already, download the Chromecast app from Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS) and open it. Select Settings in the upper-right corner. Open the Stream option and select Connect. You may need to enter your Gmail or Google account password to confirm your identity.
