What movies should I watch on Netflix for 13 year olds?
Netflix is the best way for my family to watch movies on tv because we don't have cable.
My 13 year old wants to find out what movies I would recommend to watch on Netflix for 13 year olds? What movies should she watch? She watches movies with her friends and likes drama and comedies. She has seen some good movies like, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Love & Friendship, and the new movie 21, which comes out in December 2025. Which movies should she watch next? She wants to see if any are based on a book that she would like to read. Thanks!
Hi Kari! This is a great question and one that really depends on the kid. If they just want drama, comedy and the occasional romance it might be something like 21. If they also like documentaries and history and nature it might be Atonement. And finally, for older girls who also like adventure, action, suspense and more serious films you might want to look at something like Black Swan or Battleship.
Hi Kelly! Thanks for dropping by. I'm sure you could recommend an awesome movie to your 13 year old! I'm thinking something with a story similar to Babies or I Heart Huckabees. They like movies that are funny but with serious messages about life.
Hi Emily! This is actually a good question and one that really depends on the kid. If you look at a list of kid-friendly movies, it will be obvious that they are all from different eras of Hollywood. For example, Gone With the Wind is a Civil War romance from the 1930's. Alice in Wonderland is a fantasy adventure from the 1920's. It's a fun, easy way for kids to browse through old and classic films. I hope that helps!
Hi Karen! If your son likes documentaries and likes science, then maybe he'd enjoy The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence. Or if your daughter likes movies with animals, you might recommend Up. There are so many good choices. I hope one of them is something he likes too!
We have been watching To All The Boys I've Loved Before.
What are good PG-13 TV shows on Netflix?
Netflix has made us believe we don't need cable any more.
A few decades ago, if your television provider didn't offer HBO or Showtime, there wasn't much else to watch. Today, you can get Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon in just about any size city in the country, so long as you don't mind waiting for movies to load. (If it was that simple, we would have built satellite technology a long time ago.) Still, there are other things than television programs that Netflix subscribers really should have access to, and one of them is high-quality entertainment like the shows listed on this list.
I have been a longtime subscriber of Netflix since they were only available in the San Francisco Bay Area and Boston. I love that Netflix is available in almost any area of the US, but I also want access to the full library of TV shows in prime time that I would usually access with our local cable or satellite provider.
For most of you, it probably doesn't seem like much to have all-you-can-watch TV programs from all over the world through Netflix, but you would be wrong. While streaming is great for the occasional episode or movie you want to see when you're away from home, not everyone is there when that favorite show airs or even on the same channel that it is playing.
On this page, I've written about 25 of the best-quality shows that are available on Netflix streaming. If you're already using the service for what you want, chances are you already know about some of these, but if not, then maybe this page will convince you to give Netflix a try.
What are the best TV shows available on Netflix? The Top 14 TV Shows on Netflix, According to Data. As a data geek, I loved using the Netflix database on the Netflix website so I could see what content was available at any given time. However, once I started using the site's new feature, Netflix Instant Watch, I got a different kind of gratification. Netflix has been able to make streaming a true alternative to cable TV for me because they have an incredible catalog of both popular and niche TV shows available through this service, without subscription fees.
Of course, the key issue is: what are the best TV shows on Netflix?
