For some reason, I thought it was a week. And when I was a recruiter, I saw it as the norm that if an ad had gone live for a month and didn't get any clicks, the job seeker was dead in the water. How wrong I was.

After years of research and data collection (and the occasional gut feeling), I've found out that, in fact, job postings are not as short-lived as I thought. And, of course, this has implications for your recruiting strategy.

LinkedIn has an internal data repository where the exact details on job postings are stored. I was able to use their API to extract the number of days job postings stayed on the site for each job title in their database (note that the API can only show you data from last year or so).

From this analysis, I found that job postings for some categories of positions stay on LinkedIn for more than one month: Top 10 most popular job titles on LinkedIn (based on time spent in the system): Average time in the system across job title: 7 days. Average time for job postings for the top 10 categories on LinkedIn: 4.3 days When does an ad get clicked? If a job posting gets clicked on, you can use the API to look at who's clicked the post. You can then query the API to find out if they're connected to you, LinkedIn, or an employer. If they are connected to LinkedIn, then you can run the same API to find out if they're following you, too. By clicking through these steps, we can discover how much engagement people have with your posts.

If they follow you, do they also click on your posts? A job posting can be clicked multiple times - once to read it, and then again if someone is interested. If someone clicks twice, and they follow you both times, you have good engagement. But if a person follows you, but doesn't click on your post, that doesn't mean much.

Can employers see LinkedIn job search?

Do you look on LinkedIn for jobs? Do you think that your company can see your search? Are you concerned that you could be tracked and seen by your employer or prospective employers? LinkedIn recently introduced the job search feature. Many employers claim to use this feature, however I've found it is very difficult to get an employer to provide me with any information on the subject. When I ask them, they say that they can't even see the job searches done by their employees, let alone search through them.

When I ask what they do see, they tell me that they see LinkedIn as a social network, and a place where people can show off their personal information. I ask them why they want to see this. They tell me that this is just another way for them to be able to check up on their employees, and find out what they are doing on the site.

I know that I've seen my employer using LinkedIn. When I did the initial 'tour of duty', he asked if he could view my search. I said yes, and he asked me to post it. I'm not sure if I did or not, but I haven't noticed any changes in my profile.

The thing that concerns me is that when I signed up for LinkedIn, I thought that it was strictly for professionals. It seems as if anyone who has an email address can join. I guess that I'm in the wrong category now!

As a recruiter, I don't see a problem. If you have a job that you're looking for, it's the easiest way to get a notification. Not only do I see this, but I also send a note to the people that I am interested in talking to.

I don't think that this is something that should concern people. It's a tool that is useful, especially for those people who are actively searching for a job.

I would say that it is quite common for employers to want to see what their employees are doing on LinkedIn.

It's important that you add activities that are relevant to your current career, as well as any potential new career path. These can include courses you're taking, certifications you've earned and volunteer activities.

In addition, be sure to show your accomplishments on LinkedIn. If you're active in a particular industry, it's likely that your LinkedIn activity will reflect this. So, be sure to include some of the more recent and exciting developments in your area of expertise.
