How can I watch BBC iPlayer abroad for free?

How can I watch BBC iPlayer abroad for free?

I live in Portugal and I'm still enjoying all the content of the BBC iPlayer.

However, because the UK is on a different time zone, when I go to the site I am told I can only watch BBC iPlayer for one hour. I have asked my local network provider to allow me access to it as I can't see why I should have to pay for it when it is part of the public service. He has now said that he will not allow it on his network as it is against the law to give out BBC iPlayer access to people outside the UK. He has put the BBC on a list of illegal services for providing internet access.

What is the law on giving BBC iPlayer access? And are there any free alternatives? Re: ? Originally Posted by paulf. Thanks. Paul. A BBC iPlayer license (or similar) is not required. However, we cannot be held responsible for the reliability or availability of the BBC iPlayer service on any other internet services.

If you have a different internet connection then you are more likely to be able to use iPlayer. If you use an IP address to access the internet from a different location, then the BBC iPlayer service will work for the first hour of your access. After that you need to access it again to view more content.
