What is the Slack app used for?
==============================.
The Slack app enables the user to send messages, photos and document in an interactive message board format. Messages appear on the screen when a phone is near the phone's receiver. The app can record audio messages, text messages, pictures and videos. These messages can be sent to up to 5 recipients, making it ideal for social interaction. It can also be used with a voice-powered personal assistant such as Apple's Siri or Google Assistant that uses your smartphone's built-in microphone. For business and enterprise use, the chat messages can be scheduled or delivered after a specified time and date. To add a message, users can share their screen and then use the mouse to write messages. For voice control, the user can use the microphone built into the receiver.
Who should use the app? The Slack app can be used by people from all walks of life in any setting, including the workplace, university, school, living room, kitchen and anywhere else one would find a smartphone. In a business setting, it can be used to keep the team in communication through message boards on the Slack app and in Slack itself, helping to communicate in a more open and efficient way.
How does the Slack app work? To enable the transmission of messages, the app uses real-time text technology. The sender and receiver both have phones or desktops with a wireless receiver. Once they connect, they automatically see the other person's screen. If both people can hear each other, then they can engage in a conversation and chat about that or other topics. While the screen is shared, both phones need to be on the same wireless frequency and the signal strength must be strong enough. The device can also detect if someone is standing over the receiver's microphone, so the receiving user will know.
For more complex projects and tasks, businesses can have someone record audio messages or upload and download documents using a third-party online storage company that provides business-class security and accessibility. Documents such as PowerPoints and spreadsheets, as well as videos, can be emailed directly from the platform. Video messages can include live streaming or on-demand viewing.
How is Slack different from Teams?
Slack is a multi-platform messaging app for teams.
There are both web and desktop apps available, and the desktop version is especially suited for large organizations.
One of the things that really sets Slack apart from other enterprise messaging tools is that it can help you integrate your internal systems as well as automate tasks with its many integrations. In this post we'll take a look at some of the more interesting features of Slack and what makes it stand out from the crowd.
Integration with other services. One of the coolest things about Slack is how flexible it is in terms of how you can integrate your team communication tools into your own systems. It's not uncommon for Slack to have integrations with lots of different tools and services such as Jira, Google Sheets, Zendesk, Trello, Facebook Groups, Confluence, and so on. In addition to this, you can also build your own integrations, and they are usually very easy to implement.
Slack has quite a few different integrations, but some of the ones that I think are most interesting are: Jira: This integration allows you to add comments and issues to individual messages in a chat room or channel. Trello: This integration allows you to create todo lists in Slack that will be tracked by Trello as well as JIRThis integration allows you to create todo lists in Slack that will be tracked by Trello as well as JIRConfluence: This integration allows you to send direct messages to your Confluence users.

Is Slack free to use?
One of the main questions we get is whether Slack is free.
This is an easy answer: Slack is free to use for everyone. To use it on Windows, Mac or Linux, no money is needed.
When I asked David, the founder, what his motivation was for making Slack free to use, he said he believed the only way he could make a living as a software entrepreneur is to be truly open and give away as much of the Slack code as possible. Slack is open source software, so anyone can take it and use it as they please, free of charge.
It wasn't so long ago that we all had to pay for email - the Internet wasn't completely free at the time. Now that people can access the entire Internet, including email, from their phone, it's not surprising that there are now more than 500 apps for accessing Slack from the phone and you don't need to pay anything.
I don't think it's fair for the business version of Slack to cost more than the personal version because as people are becoming increasingly mobile, it just doesn't make sense for Slack to try and compete in the business market place with a price that is higher than the price of the personal version. We're not alone. I asked David about some of the other popular messaging platforms on the market, such as Slack competitor Flowdeck, HipChat, Zulip, Mattermost and Atlassian's Confluence and they are all free to use, but the business version of each platform is relatively expensive. David explained that with Slack, the pricing is not set in stone.
