Does DTube cost money?

Is it safe to use DTube?

Is the site for newbies only?

I've used DTube for a while. This week it seems much better. It's much faster and more convenient.

I'm going to use DTube exclusively (I think). However, I want to get your opinion because for other users there are still technical glitches.

I don't understand why it is so difficult to use DTube? After using YouTube for many years, I see it's just a matter of time to find it difficult. It's so simple but it looks very complicated. You need an app, you click on a button and suddenly there is nothing. It doesn't refresh until it freezes. I've already tried restarting my mobile phone and the computer. It has also not always worked. On DTube, there is no such thing as a video preview. You can either watch the video full screen or not. If you do not open the comments, there is no ability to do that either. Even if you enable comments, they appear half way down the screen, and half cut off. You have to hover over the page to see all the comments. That's when it stops working. The comments don't update until it freezes, and only during viewing.

There are no ads. For a web site this small, it seems like the ads could be the most popular! Instead of that, there are still those annoying video advertisements. These ones start when you play a video.

I am really very upset that when I try to log into my DTube account that I created 5 months ago, the browser has not updated. If we use DTube as a beginner, we should be careful about possible bugs. I'm not joking. I've had no problem so far, but I'm very afraid for others.

Shouldn't the website at least have a little warning about bugs? In addition, it seems like some videos are being filtered out from the site. Why is this happening, and how can I remove that video? Are you filtering out anything? How can we protect ourselves? Also, do you know the reason for these delays in displaying comments and images? Can anyone explain this? I am very new to the DTube community. I think it's a great thing but it needs a lot of fixes.

Thank you so much. I wish you the best of luck and success.

Does DTube cost money?

DTube is a new web based social media platform that was founded by one of our member Cobol (a.k.a Mike Bales). It allows us to upload videos that will be viewable to everyone on the site.

Why bother with DTube? There are other similar sites like YT, and they all seem to be free, however, DTube claims it does cost money to run it. That's why we've got a DTube Bounty Campaign at the moment. It's not an easy challenge, but if you help us we could get even more features on our site.

The reward for the bounty? You get rewards on top of the initial investment! Let me explain more about how it works: There are many features we've set up to try and allow the DTube community to get something out of their DTube experience without needing to pay for anything, or be forced to use an ad-blocker. So if a member wants to upload a video, and is blocked by an ad-blocker, they will be able to watch the video without having to download the video - and this is the best part! We've put together a team of awesome developers who are on our side. In the beginning they didn't know a lot of what they were doing so we've had to come up with the software to work with the videos. Now they're up to speed and are doing some of the coding. The best part of all is that once they finish coding we can get some major upgrades to the site and that way we can reward the entire community as much as we like!

There is no doubt in my mind that once we've added a lot of the features we want, there will be a lot of people wanting to join in. But we don't want to add features that will annoy people. So if you want a feature, you need to prove you've thought about it, and know your way around DTube. We want to grow with the community so our features will be voted on by the DTube community and users will be able to comment and make suggestions on their favourite features.

We've built it so that anyone can join in and contribute.

How does DTube work?

The basic premise is that each user creates their own DTube, a microblogging platform with the functionality of Twitter.

Users (or nodes) can then post microblogs of up to 300 characters via the website and use DTube's mobile apps and chat/group messaging product to message their audience or join the general discussion. There are billions of potential combinations (which makes DTube a truly transformative and disruptive idea). Read our DTube review.

Why it matters to us Tubeversity is a term we use to describe those on DTube whose passion is helping others to improve their understanding of history, how it is covered in media today and what this means for the future of freedom of speech, democracy and equality. DTube has the ability to do massive amount of good in the world by enabling the public to gain access to news content that doesn't fit the establishment narrative or that otherwise is deliberately covered up. This, in turn, enables people around the globe to discover news content relevant to them. We all stand to gain from the rise of the network, whether as members or node owners. DTube is a project that everyone can take part in. DTube is funded by you and your generous donations, so thank you for your support. Join the Tubeversity community and be part of building the new internet!

DTube was founded in 2026, which isn't ancient considering the pace of innovation these days and the way new companies spring up every day. Despite this, DTube is now used by several million users across the globe and has seen its community grow rapidly during 2026. The network is free to operate, which is why we think it's an under-estimation that over a billion accounts have now been made. As for revenue? It's still under discussion but one thing is for sure - more and more websites and organizations will start monetizing on the back of DTube's popularity. That said, here are some of the best things about the project:

Who Runs DTube. For the first few years of DTube's existence, it belonged to an individual called @tobold who was the driving force behind all of its growth, development and direction.

What is the difference between YouTube and DTube?

I don't know if I'm the only one who sees it that way.

Let's say I'm wrong and there is no difference between the two. That would mean DTube is just another name for YouTube, which doesn't feel like it. If that's the case, why have a website at all? Why not just create an application that makes everything available through a single interface?
I think it's more that youtube and dtube are completely different in how they work. This is more like a fork than a clone. It's basically just a way to make youtube searchable. And, it's been a while since I've used youtube, but I remember there was a time when youtube wasn't always searchable.

So, when you upload a video to YouTube, it's still up to Google (and Google alone) to find it. The search engine isn't the same as it used to be and I haven't seen a change for a few years now.

With dtube, the search engine is actually part of the website itself and is more or less open-source. Anyone can add their own searches and submit them to be listed.

DTube is pretty new, I think it has only been going on for about a year. The creator claims that it's the first decentralized video search engine. It's very impressive and I believe that it will be an important part of the internet in the future.

But there's still a lot to be desired. They have really good search tools and an easy way to see trending videos, but there's still no way to upload videos directly to the site or even see recent uploads. Hopefully they'll come up with some better features soon.

How is that different from YouTube? I can search for things on YouTube just fine, and I can even search for specific YouTube channels. Also, I don't understand how YouTube is any different than anything else. We already have search engines and Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. It's not like we don't have those already.
