Why isn't my VPN working in China?
I have been trying to use a VPN to get around China's Great Firewall.
The problem is that I'm using OpenVPN 2.3.10 on Ubuntu 12.04 and it is not working.
Here is what I've tried: I've tried using the openvpn-async app, but it still doesn't work. I have also tried installing OpenVPN from source. I compiled it by running . After I installed the app, it didn't work either.
I also tried using the network-manager-openvpn app, but it didn't work either. So I tried downloading OpenVPN-async again and copying over the files to my home directory. Then I ran sudo ./openvpn-async.sh, and it did not work.sh

These protocols work to provide different features to customers. ExpressVPN offers a range of different protocols. Let's take a look at the options.
OpenVPN. This is the first protocol that ExpressVPN released. OpenVPN is designed to allow users to remain anonymous online.
SSTP. This is the next protocol that ExpressVPN released. SSTP stands for Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol. It is designed to keep your data secure and confidential.
IPsec. This is the protocol that ExpressVPN's own OpenVPN software is based on. IPsec is a protocol that encrypts and tunnels traffic between networks. This makes it ideal for using when connecting to devices in China.
L2TP. This protocol was only available on the ExpressVPN website for a short time before being withdrawn. ExpressVPN claims that L2TP is better suited to China than IPsec.
