How do I login to my 192.168 0.1 router?

How do I find my modem IP address?

My connection is going down.

How can I check what IP address my modem has? I need it for my VPN.

You are correct that you can find your modem IP address by looking at your provider's web site (you'll find the address under "Support", usually). However, this method is cumbersome and unreliable (your connection can change, the modem IP address could change, and many providers don't always provide a static IP). As of this writing, there is no Windows-specific way to find your modem IP address, but this article explains how to obtain a static IP on Windows: Static IP on Windows

Where do I get a static IP? If you want a reliable way to obtain a static IP, then you'll have to consider getting a home connection from one of these three providers: These links lead to the site of your specific Internet Service Provider, and you need to scroll down to the section titled "Purchasing a Static IP". Note that some of these ISPs advertise that they offer static IP addresses for free, but this is misleading; these ISP's will not actually give you a static IP. Many people fall for these ads and then spend a lot of money only to find out that they were just bait and switch tactics.

in Ubuntu? The method you use depends on the method you are using to find your modem IP address. You can't usually use the same methods you would use in Windows (such as using an application like NetworkManager to monitor the IP address of your modem), so the easiest thing to do is check the documentation for your router (which you should be able to find by visiting its manufacturer's web site).

If the only way your computer can access the Internet is through the modem, you probably know that IP address already. However, if you connect to the Internet using a different protocol than DSL, you may need to find the IP address of the modem separately.

In order to find out what IP address your modem has in Linux, you will need to follow these steps: Click the network icon in the taskbar.

How do I login into my Netgear modem?

3 Answers. For you to log into your wireless Netgear router, you will need the WPA/WPA2 passcode that was assigned when it was setup. If you don't know what the code is, then follow the directions in your manual to reset it. In most cases, all that is needed is a power cycle (turning off/back on the router) and that should clear any data stored in the router's memory so you will need to enter your WPA/WPA2 passcode again. If you have forgotten the passcode, the best option is to call the number provided on the back of your modem and request an additional passcode (which should be free). When you receive the passcode, write it down somewhere and be sure to remember it as it will be needed again soon. Once logged in, be sure to click "Enable" if necessary. After logging into the wireless router settings, you will be presented with the internet connection icon on your computer's desktop screen. This icon can be clicked to open the connections settings window where you can configure the following:

Netgear modem login settings. Wireless connection name (if you want to rename it). Encryption (WPA/WPA2) - The security setting here will determine whether to keep the connection password written on the back of the modem or to hide it. Security type (802.11 wpa/wpa2) - This can either be open (no password required) or encrypted (802.1x wpa/wpa2)

Authentication mode (open vs encrypted) - If you are planning to connect via multiple devices, select this setting so that you can use the wireless connection on multiple devices. Network name (if applicable) - You will probably want to change this from "Internet (192.168.X)"

Wireless connection speed - By default, wireless routers will be able to support speeds between 1Mbps and 300Mbps. If you are not seeing speeds above 1Mbps, try changing the speed here.

How do I login to my 192.168 0.1 router?

The login address is either your 192.

168.0.1 address or your 192. If it's the second of these, then you've got to follow a slightly different process.

From the command line, run ipconfig or ifconfig to view the IP information for each of your adapters (eth0, wlan0, et al).19 Bcast:192.255 Mask:255. Grep -i "IPv4" 19
Subnet Mask : 255.0 Default Gateway : 192.1 So here, the IP on eth0, my wired ethernet adapter, has the 192.19 address, and the subnet mask is 255. It's probably safe to assume that everything else on your network has a similarly formatted address.

Now, the process of setting the IP address requires 2 parts. Initiate the process in order to get the IP address. This is done via a DHCP address reservation, and is discussed in more detail in my answer to this SO question. The steps are basically this:
# Set the IP to the reservation. Dhclient. # Ensure the resolv.

How do I access my modem?

Accessing your modem is a straightforward process.

There are three ways of accessing your modem: using your personal computer, using a web browser, or accessing the modem through a cellular phone.

Use a personal computer. To access your modem through a personal computer, you need the following: A computer. An internet connection. The telephone number of the modem. If you are using a service provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP), this number will be listed on the contract or on the back of your modem. Otherwise, you will need to call your ISP to determine the number.

If you are using a service provided by your ISP, your ISP may charge a fee for using their modem. through a personal computer? There are two ways you can access your modem through a personal computer. Using a modem emulator program. This program allows you to emulate a modem. It does this by running a modem software application on the computer. The modem emulator program allows you to connect to the modem just as if it were a real modem. You can use a modem emulator program only when you have a modem driver installed. For information about installing a modem driver, see Using a modem driver.

Using a modem simulator program. A modem simulator program simulates the modem software and allows you to connect to the modem just as if it were a real modem. You can use a modem simulator program only when you have a modem driver installed.

Modem emulator programs are not available in the Mac OS X operating system. Modem simulator programs are not available in the Windows operating system. To use a modem emulator program, you must have a modem driver installed on your computer.

To access your modem through a personal computer, follow these steps. Open your personal computer's web browser. The Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox web browser is used in this example.

Type the address of the modem into the web browser. The address is the telephone number of the modem.

Click OK. A web page opens showing the modem. If you are using a modem emulator program, it will run in a separate window on your computer. If you are using a modem simulator program, it will run in your web browser.
