How much is it to make a R2D2 at Disneyland?

How much is it to make a R2D2 at Disneyland?

R2D2.

How much would it cost to make one and what would it look like? How does the money go into R2's arms, chest, knees, feet? What would one weight at the hips, ankles, elbows, shoulders, knees, or feet? You will be disappointed in all aspects of R2D2. The only way we will see it come to life is if you get one for a present for Christmas. And we wont know how its put together until we see a photo op from Disneyland at Christmas time.

So I was thinking about this when I saw the photo from Disneyland. It seems like it might be a bit easier for them to attach some kind of arms/legs to existing legs in the park. So it might be easier to get a complete robot and then make a figure. Or might have something similar where they put R2 arms on a regular figure?

They did do a very accurate R2 a few years back. There were a couple different versions of it with different details and they were still able to move, he turned around when you told him to and made all sorts of different sounds.

From what I understand he's being made right now for the new Star Wars movie. Which is very cool because people seem to be interested in the idea of him, but I don't think many ever actually buy the figures.

It's hard to know what it's worth. It's probably a long ways from being ready for sale. A toy store may want to see more detailed photos if they are really interested in getting one for sale. Maybe then they can also get a better feel for what it will cost to actually make them up.

I also don't think I'd be able to go anywhere to take the photo of R2. Would need to ask for someone to go ask permission from.

I'd love to have an accurate R2, and I really think it would cost them more to make them so they likely would only do that for a limited time period. The next best thing would be getting someone else to build the R2 from scratch and putting in their own details. That would also be more expensive, as you would have to hire a sculptor and a 3d artist.

For the average joe, this should have been possible in 1977.

Can you buy a droid without building it?

If you buy the phone unlocked, without any plans, what happens when its contract expires?

Will you get an upgrade, or do you need to buy the phone with a contract? If the latter, where can you find a contract that works for your country? There's no direct "buy android without plans" option. The phone isn't "locked". Its your choice to choose which carrier service you want to pay for. If you've chosen a different country carrier, such as Verizon, then you are required to use their plan.

Not true, in Canada at least. My iphone came in locked, but after I paid the first month (free) I did it "unlocker" app and was able to do whatever I want.

You are correct in saying that there's no direct "buy android without plans" option but it only applies in the US. I'm pretty sure I know what you're saying but you really haven't described the process to me. It's not as easy as unlocking android phone though. You have to go into a special area to purchase an unlock SIM. Then you have to go to an specific page. Then you make payment and wait for the device to arrive in your home/country. That's my understanding on how this works. I don't think you have to go into the "special area" to unlock an unlocked android device if that is what you were implying.

This. And it makes sense why. People just want the best value for money phone. And they don't care about carrier, because they will be switching anyways. When they buy an unlocked sim only contract, they should be able to change phones whenever they want at no extra cost.

Does Droid Depot take walk ins?

Can we walk into an area with only one shop and start talking to customers about their favorite phone?

Do we get paid? If not, how are we compensated? Can we keep the same title for our Droid Depot? Why is an iPad or other tablet not allowed? What can we offer? What can our website offer that your typical brick and mortar store cannot? Do you need to have an expensive storefront? The most common problem is how much people think they need an expensive storefront and how quickly that drives them to spend money they don't really need in exchange for a storefront.00 in the first place and then find ways to get your cost down and increase profits as fast as you can. You don't need a great store front to make the right kind of profit.

"So what will I need?" "Is there a place to rent?". There's nothing you need. Let me be clear. There's nothing you have to have. All you need is a computer and a phone or maybe a smart phone. You can even do this if you have no phone and only a desktop PC (which should really just be a laptop or netbook anyway).

With that said. You DO need to have a website first. Without a website you're just another customer at a store. With a website you're running your own store. There is an opportunity there to add services to your online business.

One thing I can suggest you do right now is buy the service of the URL you want.95. If it does what you need it will give you peace of mind for years.95 a few years later you can set it up yourself. If you want this done right, consider buying from GoDaddy as they get your domain name for you, offer you technical support and even help you create your site if you need it.95) click on Get URL and you will have all their services.

To add to all that you need to purchase and setup web hosting. It's pretty cheap right now.95 a month this is a one time investment and can be a low risk low return investment.

How far out can you book Droid Depot?

I booked last year in October, for Jan 6 trip. Can I try again for Jan or do I have to find a new place, if I want it close enough so I can make the airport on time. Does anyone know?

Re: How far out can you book Droid Depot? I'm assuming you mean the new Dipsi, right? Quote: Originally Posted by jrjm. Dipsi (yes). My flights are from SFO though, so I would have no idea.

I don't see why you wouldn't just ask again. They will tell you when they've sold the spot for this coming trip. (Jan 6-10)
Dipsi (yes). (Jan 6-10) Can someone tell me. I'm a first time user of Travelocity and when I looked up Droid Depot. When I did the search for flights, the site said Droid Depot had SOLD OUT. If it did, there is no way I could make the airport on time. If it is a new droid depot that is different than the original then I dont know the answers to all your questions. Thanks
I think that's the answer, but if you would be okay with a place less than perfect (I don't know the prices at that location compared to the one in the SFO area), then, while you're at it, you might consider checking out the location near the Orange County/CA airport as well. It has a nice outdoor "bar & grill" food, some pool tables and it's fairly nice. It's open only on weekends. The food is good but it isn't exactly like home cookin'.
