What is a proxy address in Office 365?
A proxy address is an alias address that is used to communicate with Microsoft Online Services, such as Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Intune.
You can use a proxy address to communicate with Microsoft Online Services from any web browser in a secure manner.
How can I configure a proxy address? You can configure a proxy address in the following ways: From the Web Client. Open the Web Client, open the Security menu, then select Internet Options, and then select the Advanced tab. In the Internet Options dialog box, select Settings. Select View advanced settings. Select Connections. Click the Connections tab. Select LAN Settings. Under Use a proxy server for your LAN connections, click Add. In the Address text box, type a proxy address, such as , and then select OK. On the File menu, select More Info, then select Properties. In the dialog box that opens, select the Advanced tab. Select Settings. Under Use a proxy server for your LAN connections, select Add.
Note: If you add an incorrect proxy address or use an invalid port number for the proxy, you might receive an error message when you attempt to log in to Office 365.
