Does Microsoft Office 365 include Power Automate?
In a way, it seems that this question should be yes, but no.
On the one hand, Microsoft has created its own cloud-based version of SharePoint and even if you want to use Power Automate you'll need to go out of your way to install it on a server. But on the other hand, Power Automate is available in the Office 365 product suite with the following features:
PowerApps. Office 365 Groups. Word Automate. On Premises Workflows. Office 365 Groups (this one is a bit of a misnomer since it actually refers to the online Groups tool in Outlook) is a feature that was announced way back in 2026 but is still not available in any way outside of the preview program. The Office 365 Groups is an application that allows you to create, administer, and share Groups on Office 365. A group is a collection of people that you can use to organize content, documents, or tasks. Office 365 Groups also includes a bunch of collaboration tools including discussion forums, instant messaging, and more.
PowerApps is a platform that lets you create applications for Office 365 without having to write any code. You don't have to learn a new programming language and you can build solutions that automate many of your business processes. PowerApps can help you do all sorts of things like automate how users access content, trigger events based on user activity, and much more.
Another feature in the Office 365 suite that I've previously mentioned is Workflows. The Workflows for Office 365 are designed to help users automate and orchestrate business processes. A workflow is basically a step-by-step guide for how to perform a series of actions on an item of data. Workflows can be triggered based on when something is created, when something is updated, when someone clicks a link, or whatever else. Workflows make it possible to automate much of the behind-the-scenes business processes that support your business.
If you remember the name, this tool will be easy to remember because it's the one that Microsoft calls the ultimate automation platform. Power Automate is a cloud-based tool that automates all sorts of business processes for you. It can help you perform almost every type of task that you might need to perform for your organization.
