Is Avast one of the best antivirus?
Should I pay for it?
I love using avast to scan my folders and my websites, and my PC's for malware. I've only ever found one little niggle that it could do better. With avast free version it says that a lot of my documents will always have antivirus. If I tell it to keep a document from having antivirus it says this document cannot be kept clean and then it says to choose one other option but I can't see any other option.
Is avast one of the best free antivirus for PC? I'm not sure if I should pay for it or use Avast free version? This is to check how viruses affect my files. It works best on certain websites so as to prevent me downloading infections into my computers' folders. It doesn't tell me it's working with my website, but it does ask me whether or not to keep my files safe. I keep mine in safe mode. I use all of these programs on my laptop and desktop computers at home. I use Windows 10.
No, I don't want to use antivirus software that slows my PC down. I like using Avast, but it says a lot of my documents are viruses. Is Avast any better than free AVG antivirus?
You do realize that your "Documents" and "My Videos" both count as "My PC", thus you will always have virus software, and AVast will only find viruses in "My Documents". Unless you have a ton of videos or photos on your machine you'll probably never need AVast to tell you anything other than what's currently installed. If you'd rather spend less time looking for viruses by just using the built in search in Explorer and you aren't using any program you're fine, but it's not a great choice. I say try AVast for free and you can add on to it. It's a good program.
Does Surfshark have good antivirus protection?
My question is, is Surfshark safe when it comes to online security, particularly in terms of viruses?
What other precautions should I be taking before using this program, and can someone help me with some tips and tricks I need to know? I have used it for years and never had any problems. I have no idea what other precautions you need to take but I would recommend downloading a free version and see how you go. If you are still concerned, look into another download.
Is there a better antivirus than Avast?
I don't care about cost, features or performance. Just want a good one that's simple to use and not hard on my machine. It seems to me that Avast can be a little bit of a pain sometimes.
I'm using Avast as my primary antivirus now. I've been using them in conjunction with SpyBot for years now. I haven't been doing malware downloads or anything so maybe they are doing a better job for me.
When something isn't easy to use is there any reason to prefer any one over the others? Hi and welcome to SpywareInfo! I think that any antivirus program will do, but if you're looking for something a bit simpler, here are some programs that may be of interest: Microsoft Security Essentials (free). BitDefender Free (paid). Avast! Pro (free). CyberDefender (Paid). Kaspersky Anti-Virus (paid). Thanks. Originally Posted by lmclaren. Microsoft Security Essentials (free). BitDefender Free (paid). I'd also like to note that you don't mention the "Antivirus" section at all. You have a firewall, a browser, and two or three general antiviruses? If so, what is used in the other sections? Have you run those and didn't like them? What kind of computer is it, by the way? I ask because the first one may not suit you as well.
Hello! I've recently become a huge fan of AVAST! I use it as my first layer in defense against malware and viruses. I find it is not overwhelming in its feature set, and has a very user friendly GUI. My PC is fairly basic, and I do not browse the net or download files for a variety of reasons.
