You may have to do this over and over until it shows a locked circle on your account instead of the blue one. If that doesn't work you can try looking through the phone numbers online to find the number of your choice. Be sure to type in the last 4 digits (ex: 11111111 becomes 111111023).
You must contact Panasonic Global Service first, and once they verify, then if all is OK you can have your phone unlocked. If Panasonic Global Service confirms but the method does not work, Panasonic will either send a new device or will refund the cost of the phone. Panasonic has a phone recycling service which makes it easy to recycle your phone and they would be glad to help out customers in your situation.
Good luck. It should show "locked" when you open any account that has "phone" in its title, eg "John's phone" or "Jane Doe's phone" . But don't do it for the phones with the same name already.
It works, as long as there's a working number. I used to know the number so that I could unlock the phone. And for some of them, there's not much more than the last 4 digits which can be looked up online, I think. Just type the phone number into the search bar on and you should be able to get a number you can use on your cellphone to call the person at the landline provider to give you the unlock code.
