The New York University Institute for Genomics and Multiscale Biology is home to some of the most exciting scientific research at the intersection of genomics, bioinformatics, and mathematics, and is among the best places in the world to study how these three fields connect. What does that mean? I'm not exactly sure, but I'll explain: NYU is home to over 50 research centers, teams, and labs, and is where you'll be part of the next generation of scientists, engineers, and physicians. It's a place where students come together to tackle big questions at every level. While this sounds great, there's a lot to learn about NYU biotech before you apply.
This page is dedicated to describing NYU's biotech program. I'll do my best to answer your question! Getting a PhD in NYC. NYU has programs that cover a wide range of biological sciences and can offer students with varying academic interests. To help you decide which program might best suited to your interests, here are a few things to consider: The size and composition of the faculty. The size of the students enrolled in the program. Cost of tuition and other financial benefits offered by the program. Program structure, including the amount of hands-on research experience you can expect. Degree completion time. Your future research interests and the skills you'd like to develop. These factors all play a role in determining how much you'll enjoy the program and how well you'll thrive as a student, and ultimately, whether you'd prefer to stay in academia or look for a more independent position. Which institute is best for Biotechnology?
Hello, I am a third year student doing a bachelor's degree in B.Sc.(Biochemistry) at a Private University, looking to do my Masters in Biotechnology from a good Bschool. The question that arose during my research was what are the basic requirements for students pursuing this field. Below is my summary of the answers to this question:
There are several types of BSc.'s in this stream, so let's name them according to the degree they are awarded. The main three are;
General Science;. Biological Sciences;. Biological Studies or Biochemistry. It is a very broad term and all three mean something different! So a bit of background, the three degrees are in these three sub-themes: 1) General science: (for example, studying ecology, nutrition or the physics of nature) means you will study something else other than just biology. 2) Biological Science: (for example, plant biology, microbiology or animal science) meaning that you will study biology in the context of a more general theme. For example, your biology of the world around you - including human, plant or animal life as you go about daily life or in more specialist studies such as toxicology. You could also study this, which is a lot closer to biological science than genie science). The focus of this course would be a good mix of biochemistry and cellular bio. Some schools offer the combination for one degree and others allow you to study separate, parallel degrees, or add further emphasis on another topic, such as clinical subjects.
3) Biological Studies or Biochemistry: (for example, studying chemistry of proteins or the genetics of viruses and its relationship with immunity) and is what some call Genie Science (you can do an additional qualification on any of themes above), but is not quite the same, as it often involves a combination of topics of biology with more practical subjects such as molecular biology and computer aided synthesis and analysis. It is generally the degree that would include more courses and more advanced topics (in more specialist subjects, such as immunology). In addition to the core requirements set by each university, some universities require you to achieve a very high grade in your A levels in order to get a place.
