How do I restrict app usage on Samsung?

How do I restrict app usage on Samsung?

I have created a simple app for my wife to use as a reminder.

It shows a small pop up window on the home screen of her phone (Samsung S4) with a single button. When I have tested it I can see that she has never touched it. I have installed a version of the app from the play store on my own phone (Samsung S5) and it has been activated. I have not been able to replicate the issue of the app being activated by Samsung.

I have tried resetting the device, but this did not help. I have searched on this site and elsewhere and I have not been able to find the answer to this. The application was submitted to Samsung in April 2025, and as of yet I have not received any confirmation. What steps should I take to resolve this? The following is a copy of a screenshot of the popup window when she uses the app: Thanks for all of your help. I do not have an issue on the play store and I do not know what information you would need from me. I am going to try to replicate the issue on my own phone and if I can't get it to work, then I will make a call to Samsung. If you still need any additional information, please let me know. If I haven't already mentioned it, my wife is using an Android smartphone running 4.3.

Thanks for the reply. I thought that you might need some details on the phone.

I am also having issues with this. It is only happening on a couple of devices. It is not happening on my own phone.

I have installed the application on 4 phones (2 samsung, 2 htc). The behaviour is different on each phone. The 2 htc phones just pop up a new window when they launch the application. The 2 samsung phones launch the application with no popup and the only way to get the popup to appear is to force close the application.

How do I get rid of unwanted apps on my Samsung?

By Mark W.

How to remove unwanted apps on your Samsung? Unwanted Apps on your Samsung? I've had my Samsung E200 for the past 2 weeks and it has all my apps on it that I use. How can I delete some of them, especially the ones that I don't use? Mark W., thanks for responding. If it helps, my Android apps are in the "Google Market", so I can use any Android-compatible app to remove unwanted apps on my Samsung. What do I need to do to get rid of all my unwanted apps?

When you go to the Google market place you should have a "Clear Market" option on the right hand side of the screen. This will let you see all apps that you have bought and installed and that are not currently used or needed on your device. You can then either delete them or just move them to the SD card.

If you are worried about having an overabundance of apps on your phone you could also install the Android App from Verizon and remove apps from that. This is not as easy to use as a standard Google market place but it should be fairly straight forward.

It's possible to have thousands of apps on Android phones, and most of them are free to use. I myself have apps from many different manufacturers, sometimes more than one app from the same manufacturer, and at least one app from each major operating system (Win, Mac, Linux, Android).

You're not missing anything important by having several hundred apps. You can even download updates for apps when they're available.

What is the point of having several hundred apps if you only use maybe ten of them? Do you need to know what apps are on your phone if you don't use them? Can't I just remove all the apps that are not needed?
