Can I get my Wi-Fi password by scanning a QR code?

How to show Wi-Fi scanner?

Create a new file in the Wi-Fi scan category with "Name" as "ShowWifi".

2. Replace all contents of this file with: 11 3 12

This should show up as a button right on your home screen which will start an wifi connection if you are online. To make this the default action, go to Settings > Wifi scanner icon and select Show as wifi instead of bluetooth. 5. To change the order in which it shows up go to Settings > Wifi scanner icon, and under Default actions, sort the list so "showwifi" is at the top, and then move the other actions around to place them below it.

Note: You can have many devices and apps using the same app key, it doesn't hurt to share your app key.

Is there a way to see Wi-Fi password?

I am thinking about getting an unlocked one and putting it on my windows mobile 5.

5 phone. I want to put it on my windows 7 laptop to use as a hotspot in the hotel that I go to from time to time (for testing purposes). Is there a way to see the Wi-Fi password of the hotspot, if this is possible?

If the "hotel network" is using a shared username/password (ie it's just the network name, no password) you can enter the "Guest Network" on your Windows 7 computer and just access the Guest Network's (Wi-Fi) settings. This should bring up a screen where you can configure your new "hotspot" network. It seems it will show in Network and Sharing Center. And if the "hotel's" network password is "guest" it's not really a big issue if you forget it :)
It's worth noting that the above approach ONLY works for the "Guest Network" - which might only work when someone else is paying the bills and using the Guest network. But at least you can create guest users in Windows 7 (if the Wi-Fi admin isn't going to be too picky about your guest users, maybe?

Can I get my Wi-Fi password by scanning a QR code?

Is it possible to scan a QR code in Android 2.

As far as I know it is not possible to get your WiFi password using NFC. There is a good answer to the questions if it is still the case with latest ICS. It seems like there is not option like NFC anymore, since Samsung announced that they will use Smart Lock in future (at least for non rooted phones).

The only way you are free from having to enter your password on different computers etc. Is to use Wi-Fi Protected Setup. For that you need to make sure your phone has Internet access (with some devices I think it doesn't require internet access for wifi setup).

You can then make a list of your devices that would get connected automatically to your home network, the only thing that must be configured is that all your "devices" actually connect to the same network name. You could use a different username and password for each of them (and have them all configured the same way with SSID, WEP key etc.) and the password should automatically get assigned as the "password" for that user/device.
