There is a song that keeps playing on the radio station at about the same time I am getting ready to board. As I sit here, the voice of Thelma Zara plays and I can't help but smile. I know that for the rest of my life, I will associate this song with the one person that always helped me through my toughest times in life, Thelma Zara.

I remember sitting on the kitchen floor as a child, not quite being able to move. It was early in the morning, I think around 6am, and my Mom was still asleep. She told me to just go and get my friends so that we could play some volleyball, and that would make me feel better. That's when I left the house and headed to my friends house.

As we sat on the court, bouncing the ball around and giggling, we ended up with a game of volleyball and a full circle. Everything was all right in the world again. We went back to my house, the game was put away and my Mom was off to work. It was then that I began to cry again. What was wrong with me? Why couldn't I just keep my emotions to myself and not let everyone see me crying over nothing? How could I lose control like that? That was the last time I cried alone in my room as a kid, until I decided to quit my job and pursue my passion.

That same friend came over again and brought his girlfriend, who eventually became my wife. When we moved into our own apartment, she took over my kitchen while I started playing in local bands. Things were going great for awhile. We were together for nearly 4 years before I realized that I was not happy and wanted to do something different in my life.

It dawned on me that were speaking the truth. Marvin had his kids but not with love in his heart anymore. My feelings for Marvin were very much alive. It was strange though. No matter what happened, my thoughts would always be about him.

After she answered my questions, Melinda smiled and stood up. I got up and said goodbye to my brother before joining her in the foyer where I hugged her as tightly as I could. Call me as soon as you know anything about Marvin's baby daddy.

I will call you right away, Melinda promised. The rest of the evening was quite awkward and uncomfortable for me. But this time I'm used to it. The truth is, Melinda would never be able to understand that. I really did want to know if they were still together.
