Why is my Windscribe VPN not working?
You get a Windows pop-up error message that says connection reset by peer.
This means the VPN connection failed or the VPN server can't be reached. If this happens, you might have used your computer in a location where you can't access your home network or the Windscribe VPN server. You must connect to a VPN server somewhere that isn't blocked, such as a friend's house, if you need to be online but can't access the corporate network.
For example, you could be trying to access a website, like work or Bank of America, but it says the site is blocked in your country or location. In this case, you would need to know where your country is and then visit a non-blocked website or VPN service on your device in another country or location. If you are trying to access a website in another country or in a different location, your device will likely need to connect to an overseas VPN to reach that website.
The IP address assigned to the system can only be resolved by the ISP (internet service provider). To bypass the restrictions, you will need to use a service like TunnelBear. This will enable you to establish an internet tunnel from your system to a trusted VPN host somewhere else on the internet. They have apps for Windows, Mac, Android, Linux, iOS and other platforms. A lot of use it to visit blocked websites.

Why is Windscribe extension not working?
I am struggling to get my extension working.
Have tried many ways, but to no avail. When I launch Windscribe, I get the following message:
This is the error I get. If anyone would be willing to take a stab at the issue, please share your findings. Thanks!
Hi Chris. I got your extension on another pc and it worked fine I installed Windscribe again and installed again the extension. Do you get any error messages or something? Also maybe you could help me with the other problem I got. When I press Save in the Windscribe settings page, I get this in Firefox console: Refused to display document because display forbidden by X-Frame-Options. I have no idea how to enable the x-frame-options for my webpage, I'm wondering if you know? Thanks for pointing that out, yes that is a problem. I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say "it worked fine." Was it working fine then you reinstalled, or did something else happen? The reason I mention this is that when I installed the extension, there were no problems, and it was working. Then, it seems like something got changed on the server because my other extensions also started having issues, including AdBlockPlus.
So, I tried everything, re-installed, and then tried your instructions. But after all that, I can't seem to get it to work. The errors above are from the second Windscribe installation.
It seems I cannot remove the extension because it keeps popping back. So, what do I do now? How do I get past this without reinstalling Windscribe? Well, let me know if I've misunderstood. Did you install your extension from Firefox's addons manager? (I think that is where they are installed from by default.) Did you install any updates to Firefox after you installed your extension? Did you uninstall and reinstall your extension? Did you turn off your ad-blocker on your computer when you installed your Windscribe (since, IIRC, Firefox blocks Windscribe by default)? If so, I wouldn't worry too much about it, the add-on will show up in the list of those needing updated.
