How do I save a PDF as view only?
My teacher wants to print a PDF document on a shared drive where it will only be available to students and not the teachers. The document looks perfect to print for the students, but when he sends the document to the shared drive there are three files that appear in that location. So how do we stop the teacher from viewing the document?
To prevent viewing of the original file on shared storage you need to open the pdf in Reader mode. You can then open the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader in any other mode.
The easiest way is to use the File > Open command. The next time you want to print from the student's copy, it will prompt you to make a new print job with the student's version of the document.

A new feature, "Add To Reading List" makes it quick and easy to collect all the information you want in one place for easy review. What is a Reading List? "Reading List" allows you to download articles, videos, images, or anything else that you like on our website into your Reading List. When you view an article or any other content on our website, your Reading List is automatically downloaded on your phone. You can then open up your Reading List and view articles at any time by clicking on your phone's "Home" button. You can even bookmark, email, or share the article if you wish.
How do I set up a Reading List? Step 1 - Tap "Add to Reading List" icon. Step 2 - Tap "Reading List". Step 3 - Tap "I have my own" or "I share with you". Step 4 - Share the reading list with other readers if you wish. Step 5 - Enjoy your Reading List! Do you want to know more about Reading List? See the video below or visit our FADownloading: Click on "or "Share this video" at the bottom of the article or video. Copy the URL (the web address) of the page you want to share. Paste the URL in the box that says "Share this URL". The article or video is shared instantly, and is added to your Reading List. See the video below for instructions on using Reading List: How to share articles, videos, and images to a Reading List. Tap and hold the article, video, or image until it expands to reveal the "Share this" icon at the bottom of the screen. Tap on the "Share this" icon.

How do I extract an embedded PDF from a website?
I am looking for a way to extract an embedded PDF from a website.
I have tried two methods. The first method I tried is to use the PDF Trawler from www.togaware.com. This seemed to work fine. The problem was that the PDF Trawler only works on very small pdf's and I have a large pdf. It works fine on a pdf I had downloaded from the internet. When I tried it on my large PDF, I got a "The requested URL could not be retrieved" message.
I then tried to use Ghostscript from www.ghostscripts. This worked great on my small PDF, but the large PDF didn't seem to want to work. I got the error message "Cannot open or create output file" which is similar to what I get with PDF Trawler. I tried doing a "File -> Convert to PostScript" but this didn't work either.
Can anyone recommend any methods to extract an embedded PDF from a website? I'm sure there are other programs out there that can do this as well, but I'd like to know which one to try first. Thanks! The PDF Trawler might be of help here. But I think you need to add a filter to the web page to make it downloadable. Here's a link to the filter that does it.
