How to download view only PDF file in Google Drive?
I have a Google Drive folder with about 30 folders, each of them contains some PDFs files.
I am trying to download all these PDFs to my computer.
I searched a lot, but could not find how to download PDF file only from Google Drive. Please advise how to download PDF file only from Google Drive? Copy the folder into a new one. Then open that folder in drive.com
Click File > Download as and select PDF. It will show the default download location. Use the customize option to specify your local folder.
NOTE : It downloads the folder itself, not it's contents. So if you already have a folder called "My Documents" on your computer, then the download will be saved there.
How do I copy a read only PDF from Google Drive?
As you use the various documents on Google Drive, files with sensitive information may be locked down. Files that are locked down can't be modified, copied or shared. To address this, Google Drive enables customers to create two types of locks for individual files in Google Drive. One is a regular "lock" and the other is a limited "read-only" lock. If you find a locked file that you would like to use, or if you want to make changes to an existing locked file, you must first remove the read-only lock.
A read-only lock is similar to how you might treat data while working on your computer. It prevents users from making any changes to a file after a read-only lock is added to a file. When someone attempts to change the file or try to access content of the file using different applications, she'll get a message saying that the file is locked and that no action should be performed.
Steps: Copy or share a Google Drive file. To open a read-only PDF in a read-only PDF reader, follow these steps: Navigate to the Google Drive link for the PDF file you would like to use and right-click. Select "Share" then choose "Copy shortcut."
The PDF will be sent to your Google Drive desktop (or Google Drive for desktop). You'll be able to view the file directly.
When you are done working on the read-only PDF, select "Lock file" on the Google Drive website. Once you decide that a file is ready to be changed, you'll be notified that it is set to "locked" mode (similar to how data files are normally treated). You will now be able to make changes to a locked Google Drive file.
If you would like to create a new read-only file and then copy or share it, you may copy the file by copying the contents of the file to a new folder on the desktop. The new folder in turn becomes a document. From within the desktop, double-click the file that has a read-only lock applied and the file will open in Google Docs.
