He's too weak for a main lead. He has yet to really develop and his character does not seem to want to learn any more than he already knows.

I agree. Mushi is still in the very beginning stages of his development.

It's unfortunate he's not developing as he should be but he's a good character actor at this point. The first movie was alright but the anime was completely different. I loved the OVA in this way though.

This. He seems to have this hidden quality about him that she could see because he didn't fully give it up. Maybe that is why she saw something in him, when nobody else did? (even when she wanted to, to give him the love that her feelings weren't reciprocated)

Mushi is currently an underdeveloped main character. Though the "plot" is still quite interesting.

I think it's just a matter of time before his character starts developing. It takes time, so there's plenty of time to play with.

He's very interesting. I enjoy watching him.

As much as I hate to say it, we need some more girls. A lot more, unfortunately. That scene where the woman asked him what sort of job he would like. That's exactly what it was.

And he went right back to what he loves? That's amazing. He's a pretty cool character.

Why is Mushoku Tensei so highly rated?

So heres a fun fact, no one knows anything at all about this game.

And thats what makes it so awesome! For those that are asking why I recommend it so highly just look at my stats and ratings. If a game gets a high rating with such little activity and so few ratings, there is a good chance that they might know something that I dont know. Which really makes it impossible for me to see the game as a normal rater does.

I would actually LOVE to know what people think of this game, however I cant ask them for you since everyone loves to pretend that they know everything about this topic for some odd reason. I'm hoping to see a few thousand responses to get a real good idea on if they just put an "Oh I love how he got his ass handed to him so easily and I'm hoping to do the same." Or "This was hilarious man I'd do it again in a heartbeat, I laughed so hard". And "Yea man, nice job, hope your next game goes much better." etc

But either way, good day to you sir! And if you decide to make another game that gets no activity for over a year, you should consider changing the name to something other than "Mushoku Tensei" as you can still make money off of it, it would just not be under a name thats usually associated with murder and violence. There should be some more comments because the number of views is very small. But don't worry about it because a lot of people know nothing about this game. If you want, I can post a review of it and explain a little bit what happened during the tournament. And of course I can answer most of the questions related to this game. The only thing is that there were many problems, such as bugs, and I believe the worst part is that you killed your wife.

And yeah, sorry for the long comment but this is the first time that I write something about a video game and I was trying to show how stupid people usually are in general. So that's why I wrote a pretty large part of it.

It is highly rated because almost no one knows what the game is. No one knows what happens, no one has played it or even seen videos.

Why is Mushoku Tensei controversial?

The Mushoku Tensei game is very controversial.

It has even been banned from sale in many countries, even in the US, because it does not follow some of the accepted tenets of role playing games.

On the official Mushoku Tensei Wikipedia entry: This game can be seen as a blatant copy of Ultima 7. The graphics are strikingly similar. The story structure is basically the same. The characters are essentially the same. Some of the dialogue and narration seems to copy U7's. If you see some similarities in the plot, this probably means that the developer was inspired by U7, who in turn was inspired by Ultima 4 (also by Wingate).

The differences between the two are mostly surface superficial, but make no mistake - this is an outright rip-off. It was intended to appeal to the Ultima fans of the West; it did not.

The controversy about Mushoku Tensei.e. This has really brought much controversy around on the internet. In America, some groups have claimed that it may lead players to commit crimes, and has even argued that it may encourage racial hatred. I am still not clear what exactly is the reasoning for the government (in Germany) to ban the game, and prevent it being sold in book shops. On some news sites is the word "hatecrime" or "bigots". It would seem that the arguments over Mushoku Tensei really got the government worried.

Now, in an interview by Polygon, the designer of Mushoku Tensei states: "There were a lot of arguments. When we first sent out the demo to the American press in 1996 there were a lot of people who told us that the game made people commit crimes, that you'd start beating up people on the street. "No one could point us to any scientific proof of this, but they just assumed it was going to make kids commit crimes because of this kind of stuff. You know, 'Let's get children to play role playing games'. "I thought, what is the actual intent of making a role playing game? I mean, it's pretty hard to do this and not make it fun. It's pretty difficult to write fun dialog. People didn't seem to be able to look at things objectively."

But is it really as innocent as that? Mushoku Tensei (aka Mushoku no Tenbin) is anime set in the future, and follows the main character Takuetsu Natsuki, or "Natsuki" for short. He's a young man who is very smart, but lacks the charisma to get girls. He's an average college student, with a part-time job as a reporter. One day, he's invited to spend the weekend at a girl's house, which he is surprised to learn is the home of a teacher. There, he meets the other girls of the house:

Ichi (Chizuru Miyawaki). She's in first year, she's very kind, and pretty. She takes Natsuki in, offering to help him get his self-confidence up.

Aiko (Nanami Kurokawa). She's in third year, she's a nice girl, though a bit conceited. She takes Natsuki to an event and has her help him get a girlfriend.

Misa (Shiori Oka). She's in fourth year, she's extremely beautiful, and seems to know a lot about fashion. She invites Natsuki to a fashion show.

You can guess that Natsuki is smitten by Misa. In fact, the anime spends the rest of its run focusing on this relationship. He makes a concerted effort to impress her, and she's constantly making promises to give him her love, or to go out with him. Natsuki is also shown to be very insecure. However, even with all this, Misa treats him like he's nothing.
