What is the Proxy setting for Psiphon?
The first field says Proxy: and I want to be sure that's just the proxy I have to use with it, nothing more.
I know you can't do everything that Psiphon Proxy will do in a normal browser. What are the exact limitations for Psiphon? What exactly is it supposed to be good for? Is it an ad blocker for instance, or does it run things like antivirus software in the background? Can it also block trackers and cookie monsters and all the other bad stuff we usually complain about on our blogs?
Why is Psiphon not working on my phone?
When attempting to access Psiphon on Android 6.
0 and up, it is unable to connect. While trying to access Psiphon on an iPad (iOS 9) connected to the same wifi network, it works fine.
When attempting to connect to Psiphon with a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 using Chrome Version 66.3359.132 (Official Build) on an Nougat version 7.2 device, the browser window closes.
I am able to access the Psiphon app from my laptop and I am able to access Psiphon when connected via my desktop to my wifi router (I can view a list of available mobile internet service providers (MISs), choose a MIS, and activate Psiphon). I have tried Psiphon from another location but the same problem. My ISP has a firewall. I was not able to get past it but I thought it was an issue with my browser since it was using chrome.
Your phone appears to be able to connect to the internet. Are you sure the proxy settings are set correctly? In "Settings > Network Settings > Mobile data > Select a connection > Set your choice to Wifi only" it is set to "Wifi only". Are there any other settings in the Psiphon app that are causing this? I had this issue before and it was because of a mistake in the Psiphon settings file. If you cannot find that file, double check your /sdcard/Psiphon folder for any changes you made recently.
Is the Psiphon app installed on your phone? Try reinstalling the Psiphon app. The mobile app is installed on my phone. I have tried reinstalling the Psiphon app but that did not resolve the problem.
If you would be kind enough to explain how this works. All devices have browsers which are able to connect to the internet. If a website you wish to visit needs a proxy server to connect, the browser requests that from the proxy server when it is attempting to connect. If the proxy server receives an HTTP request from the browser, the proxy server is configured to send back an HTTP response back to the browser. The proxy server also requires IP address information for the device so it can identify the correct IP address to reply back to.
How do I enable HTTP Proxy settings?
I'm using Android Studio and have created an app that connects to the internet and fetches a website.
I'm using an online test tool that tests the connection and it gives me errors with HTTP Proxy settings.
Can anyone help me with this? I've already checked the http proxy settings in the Android Studio settings. You need to add the following lines to your manifest file:
