An announcement by Sony is coming very soon, according to a tip we received this week from a major source. This could, potentially, be everything you would need to know - and more - about this exciting new piece of hardware. Here's how much you'll need to be ready for it.

What you should know already. The news comes through a well-placed source at Sony, as well as our own research. According to these sources, we are expecting a high-spec next generation 4K gaming console that will launch in 2024, possibly coinciding with the 2024 FIFA World Cup - in an effort to rival Microsoft's Xbox series next year and in order to catch up to Apple. You will be able to plug the new console in to a TV like a regular set, just like you do your TV right now - but there will also be different ways of connecting to your television, including a new type of HDMI connection - "CEC", which will support the sharing of games. Sony's rival is expected to include a new controller with motion controls, similar to the PlayStation VR controllers, as well as wireless headphones. There could also be a digital TV remote, possibly making this one of the first devices you actually need a remote for in order to make the most of your television.

Your device will also have dual 12-hour battery life (similar to the Xbox One) and can be plugged in for 10 hours at once. This will be a significant development given many people use the same device for their phone, tablet and TV while travelling.

The news is backed up by a number of rumours we have seen - not least that the current generation PS4 SCE Santa Monica Studio game will likely be available on the new system too. You will be able to take photos on your TV using the camera built into the unit, just like the Xbox One. But the new device will have "improved camera hardware, a faster USB port and additional processing power" - meaning it may be more suited to taking snaps quickly.

Is PS4 Pro faster than PS4?

Yes, the PS4 Pro is about 20% faster

The PlayStation 4 Pro is the future of the PlayStation family.

Sony hopes the new console, which was released in November, will bring in customers who are tired of the current generation's graphics and want something better. Will it help Sony keep up with the competition, especially Microsoft's next-gen Xbox? The Xbox One X is coming soon, and it has the power to take over the PS4 Pro market.

However, while the PS4 Pro doesn't have that much going for it, there is some truth behind its claims. PS4 Pro is a lot faster than the current PS4 and the Xbox One S, but there isn't that much more power in the new console. However, the PS4 Pro isn't just a rehash of the PS4. Sony has made several upgrades to the console, so you will see some significant changes in how you use your console. Let's take a look at the console.

PS4 Pro Specs. According to GameSpot, the PS4 Pro has a faster GPU than the Xbox One S. It also has 2 teraflops of graphic processing power and 8GB of GDDR5 video memory. The main benefit of having the PS4 Pro is the 4K support, according to GameSpot.

Sony is planning to release a DualShock 4 remote control and a wireless DualShock 4 controller that work with the new console. GameSpot believes Sony's new remote is a way to get its customers in to the new console. A big part of the reason for the new console is to draw in customers tired of the current generation's graphics.

Can Sony Keep up? One of the big selling points for the new consoles is their power. The Xbox One X can even play games at a 60 fps with the standard graphics settings. Sony wants to give the PS4 Pro the same capabilities, but it needs to be able to deliver. PS4 Pro is 20% faster than the PS4 and about 30% faster than the Xbox One S.

However, the new console has several issues, and these are the biggest issues, according to GameSpot. Sony only told retailers about the PS4 Pro in April. The company did not have enough time to create a unified game store, so retailers will have to buy games online.

Is there going to be a PS5 pro?

What about the PS5 gaming chair?

The PS5 won't be out before Christmas and it will cost a bomb. It has an 8 GB of GDDR6 memory, which is 32 times what AMD's GCN 1.3 memory can manage. It's got 8 CUs of Vega 20 processing power, which is 40 times what the GCN 3.0 GPU has to offer. The GPU is the same size as AMD's Radeon Pro SSG from 2024, but it's built on 14 nm rather than 12 nm and it uses a 7nm FinFET process.

Vega was supposed to become available in 2024 but it fell over at the last minute. At the time of writing this article on November 11th.

This gives PS5 the edge for a long while, but we may see it suffer from the very same problem that made AMD's RX Vega 64 fall by the wayside. A few weeks ago in a interview with Digital Foundry, AMD's director of graphics Chris Klaus said that he couldn't commit to delivering the RX Vega 64 until he was sure of Vega's reliability - something that he finally delivered. He said that as soon as Vega's released he would commit to creating more power-efficient graphics cards that were even more powerful than the RX Vega 64. It seems that PS5 could suffer the same fate if they don't take the extra step to release an RX Vega 64.

So, why didn't AMD just commit to releasing a more powerful gaming card instead of releasing a more powerful graphics card? When I spoke to AMD's VP of gaming marketing and strategy Chris Hook at GDC, he said that he thought that they should've delivered something faster and more powerful back then, but that it was something that his fellow engineers just couldn't bring themselves to do. A year later, and they're ready to deliver something that's twice as powerful but they were afraid to. That says a lot to me about where AMD's been over the last twelve months.

At the time of writing this article on November 11th, 2024, I'm going to assume that we're looking at between March and September.

Is PS4 Pro equal to PS5?

After the reveal of the PlayStation 4 Pro, several industry insiders raised the question whether PS4 Pro will be a next generation console.

I wouldn't call PS4 Pro a next generation console. PS4 Pro will get a lot more horsepower than the original PS4. The new model is not going to have the Cell processor and it doesn't look like the successor of the PS4. Instead it appears that PS4 Pro will be a mid-generation upgrade. But, don't tell anyone in the tech industry because no one wants to think that their console is an obsolete device just for this reason.

Some gamers are expecting Sony to release a PlayStation 5 at the next E3 in June 2024, and many believe that this will become the next-gen successor to the PS4. Sony is currently developing a number of next generation consoles, including PlayStation 5. Rumors about PlayStation 5 started spreading since the company is not working on the rumored Project Zeroth console, but with some interesting features.

So, what does PS4 Pro exactly mean? Let's see the advantages of this console in comparison with the original PS4: Hardware. PS4 Pro is going to include a redesigned processor named PS Neo. This CPU can run both PS4 games and PS4 Pro titles seamlessly with increased graphic power. A redesigned GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) will also be included in the model. This component provides graphics processing, anti-aliasing, and other functions that create visuals.

It's also important to note that PS4 Pro should allow users to play their regular titles at Full HD on a 60Hz, 60 FPS environment. The regular PS4 has to use HDTVs (High Definition TVs) by default, limiting its graphical performance.

The processor used for PS4 Pro is based on the design and architecture of Jazelle, the chip announced for the Xbox Scorpio. This processor allows for the best performance and efficiency. However, all gaming machines are expected to increase in power with the time and this model will benefit from this improvement.

With these improvements in hardware, games on PS4 Pro will require more memory, and PS4 Pro will allow for better graphics without the need to purchase a high-end PC and a gaming console.
