What happened to PrintFriendly?

PrintFriendly is an easy way to get your friends and family to print out a copy of your website.

We used to be able to print pages from our sites directly from the PrintFriendly button on the right side of the page, but that feature is no longer available. We're still offering the ability for you to get your site printed, but we're not in a position to guarantee that it will work all of the time. You can see what might be happening with your site by clicking on the View page source option in your browser (usually on the top-right of the window). This will show you the HTML code that the browser is using. This is the only way to guarantee that it will work.

I've recently tried to add my own font to the text in my WordPress site but it didn't work. The font isn't loading and it's showing up as plain text. I'm not sure why?

I have the same problem. If I look at my page source the font is listed as plain text. I'm not sure how to get it to load. It seems to be a conflict with some other CSS file that I've got on the page.

I've also noticed that when I try to reorder my menu items using the "customise" plugin it keeps changing back to alphabetical order even though I've selected my menu items manually. I'm having problems with the PrintFriendly button. When I click on it tries to download the page but nothing happens. I've tried reinstalling it but it doesn't seem to have made a difference.

I'm having trouble with the new version of PrintFriendly. I'm not sure if this is a coding issue or if I'm doing something wrong.

What is print friendly extension?

A print friendly extension is a module used for adding style rules which make a document more accessible for a screen reader.

The most common use of a print-friendly extension is for a link to an image; users should be able to click on the link to view the image, but there should be a way to do so that doesn't interfere with the reading process. For example, imagine you are reading an ebook where there is a navigation bar at the top of each page. When a user clicks the "Next Page" button, you want the next page to be read by a screen reader as it would normally be read if it was not an ebook or a PDF file.

To ensure accessibility, the same HTML/XHTML syntax and semantics must be used on both the printed document and in a screen reader. In this document, we use a print friendly extension (PFE) for a "navigation link", rather than a simple hyperlink.

Print-friendly PDFs are optimized for printing on many different devices, but there is no guarantee that the file will print successfully on any one device. If the print file does not appear correctly after opening in a reader or printer, you may need to save the file as a PDF and view it in Adobe Reader, if you are unable to view the file in your reader or printer.

Can I use my own page designs or images for a print-friendly PDF? Yes! When you create a print-friendly PDF, you are automatically converting your document to a PDF/X-1a format. You can then select from several styles of custom background and fonts in your document editor before printing.
