Is there anything better than Cloudflare?

Yes.

Yes there is! For one simple reason: You can't get screwed on service. Cloudflare is, by far, the cheapest and safest bet of the lot. Not to mention they're the absolute best for those with websites. They just did 1.1 million customers last night. It's not hard to see why.

Cloudflare's core differentiator and value offering is their best effort DNS protection service - a name server level firewall that stops malware on your website from sending DNS queries to blacklisted DNS servers and/or websites. This works hand-in-hand with their Cloudflare SSL service - SSL is an encryption technology to securely and encrypted form data you send across the internet; this is especially important when interacting with a website. It has been argued that Cloudflare's best effort DNS/SSL is, without a doubt, the most secure/encrypted website security technology around today.

When I first heard about it I thought that it would be a good fit for the web sites I own. In this post I'll be looking at the benefits of having a Cloudflare Pro plan and whether it's worth it or not. I'm also going to talk about some of the features of the plan that make it worth having.

What is Cloudflare? Cloudflare is a web application firewall, CDN and DNS service. You might have heard of them because they support one of the largest DDoS attacks in history (DDoS = Distributed Denial of Service). It has 4 free services available, plus a set of additional services. You can buy as many additional services as you want.

There are a range of different pricing plans available. I like Cloudflare for its ease of use and the fact that it offers so many useful features. It's easy to set up and very easy to use.

Why do I want a Cloudflare Pro plan? So what's the point of getting a Cloudflare Pro plan? I've listed a few below. It gives me a lot more flexibility. One of the main reasons I decided to get a Cloudflare Pro plan was because it gave me more flexibility. The first thing I needed was the ability to protect my own sites from DDoS attacks. The basic Cloudflare plan has no form of protection against DDoS attacks.

By going with a Cloudflare Pro plan I get the option to have DDoS protection turned on. This will protect your site from DDoS attacks when you're under a DDoS attack.

This gives me some peace of mind, but not much. It's great to know that if I have a DDoS attack on my own sites I won't lose any traffic or my site could even go down. But it's not a complete solution.
